I think it is a good trade for both teams. Iverson needs to start over. What is Miller's contract like? I don't feel like looking it up.

that scares the crap out of me. if he gells with Melo, the 2 would wreak havoc on the floor. being mile high is big enough a home adv already.

what would their lineup be ? my guess (now don't skewer me if its inaccurate. I'm at work and can't fact-check !)
AI/Boykins
AI/JR
Melo/Diawara
Najera/Kleiza
Camby/Evans/Nene

wow! they got to keep JR ! Philly should have at least got him.

edit: Melo and AI score 62.8 ppg between themselves! bwaaaaaaaaaaaah!

I like Andre Miller a lot, but the key is the picks. We are poised to package them to move up if necessary, plus with that money coming off the books, should be a fairly nice scenario for the future of the Sixers. That being said, the Nuggets are gonna be a problem in the West.

Not this year though. It will take a while, if at all. Both players need to have the ball in their hands to dominate. Only one ball to go around.

If AI plays point guard

Iverson
Smith
Melo
Nene
Camby

great backcourt and frontcourt

Two superstars=bad news for the rest of the NBA if they gel.

Let's see how it works, I am not as terrified of players on good teams that need to shoot 40 shots a game to hit their scoring average.

Philly definitely clears some space by ridding of...

Iverson - $18.2 million (06-07), $20.1 (07-08), $21.9 (08-09)

Taking on

Miller - $8.6 (06-07)

Smith - $6.8 (06-07)

Plus some picks.

Hard not to like a trade that clears your books from that kind of salary while netting you some picks which may be useful.

Obviously the trade isn't equal as far as talent is concerned. But it could save Denver some face during the suspensions of Melo and JR Smith.

PHI saves about three-quarters of $1.7M this year because they took in less salary than they sent. Smith's contract drops almost $7M off the books for next year. Miller's $8.8M contract is half what AI's is for the same length of time....

they have two firsts in this year's draft. their own, and Dallas'.

last year's pick went to NJ in the Kenyon trade, which then went to Toronto in the Carter trade, which then went to NY in the Rose trade.

so i'm assuming that Dallas' pick goes to Philly as well as an 08 first?
