OMG.

Shooting Stars, this is so exciting I might have to turn off the TV or else I might get a heart attack.

They would need Steph or Ray for the almost halfcourt shots. They would hit a jumper from there.

John Salley was hilarous. Missing all his shots from 3. than firing one at the rim and the last one banked in.

Than he banks in the halfcourt shots also.

Who's competing the three-point shooting contest? I sure wish some more of the top players would compete in these contests.

Why can Casey Jacobsen not turn into Korver?

First of all Korver looks like a cool guy and really looks like Ashton Kutcher. Second of all he has a beautiful shot.

FA by the way!

Why they put guys like Mobley, Billups or Antoine Walker in those contests every year is beyond me.

I bet Jacobsen and Barbosa could do a lot better.

I say try to trade Jacobsen and go for Korver in the FA market. He won't cost that much and will only be a 2nd year player next season.

Swift/Voshkul/Lampe
Amare/Howard
Marion/Zarko
Johnson/Iguodala/Korver
Barbosa/Vujanic

Wouldn't mind that roster. Swift and Korver in free agency since everyone is so concerned about Camby's health. Howard and Iguodala in the draft.

Come on they are talking about Kareem needing a job and looking for a job.

Get Kareem over here as an assistant coach!

Ricky sucked.

Andersen got dogged but his second was too easy also.

Richardson first was boring, the second great.

Jones was also nice.

Someone might be taking these meaningless contests just a little too seriously.

yeah that dunk contest sucked.

If richardson had of made those 2 dunks in the 2nd round, that would have been awesome. He tried a 360 between the legs, and a 360 trying to put his elbow through the rim

Man come on, the dunk contest is what everyone waits for and they find ways to ruin it every year.

That contest has so much potential and they waste it.

Richardson made the hardest dunk of the night. However he was given the third title on a platter, and he missed the last dunk. He makes anything conservative and he gets a 42 and the third title. I am not unhappy with the new kid. Anderson got punked and should have been in the finals because he got dogged on his first dunk which was hard, and the dunk by the Indiana kid in the first round was NOT a 50. I think as bad an ending as it was, everything evened out in the end. Richardson should have realized he just needed an average dunk and he would have been three time champ. He didn't, so I guess it was justice he lost. He gave away the contest more than anyone took it from him. :)

It would be so easy to make it a great contest.

They already removed the rookie game from the saturdays.

Put a big paycheck for the first 3 seeds as the price.

Get every good dunker in the NBA and give everyone 4 dunks and score his best 3. And give each a time window to complete a dunk instead of tries.

Get some judges with common sense who won't give 50 all the time.

Everything would be fine.

Who wouldn't watch a contest if it involved like those guys next year?

Francis
Jones
Wade
Gordon
Ford

Iguodala
Richardson
Carter
TMac
Kobe
Lebron
Marion
Davis
Mason
Warrick
Melo

The judges are different every year as far as what they look for. The LA contingent were rewarding power dunks. I guarantee Amare being in this year and he would have donw much better than last year. He is one of the most powerful dunkers in the league. Next year they may like gliders, or acrobatic dunkers more. So right now it is kind of like a crapshoot as to what the judges are looking for. I think they need to add a guide like in gymnastics or skating, saying what they are looking for BEFORE the contest so guys can practice and put on a better show! ;)

After Richardson made the off the backboard through the legs dunk, they should have ended the contest and gave him the trophy. Hands down the hardest dunk I have ever seen.

Richardson most likely knew he could just take it easy on the last one, but so did Fred Jones. Had he just made it, Richardson couldn't have tied him. Plus, if Richardson walked his way to the trophy after they gave him 5 chances on a dunk, and screwed Fred Jones because the ball went in the hoop, that would not have been right at all.

I agree that Jones' first dunk was far from a 50 though.....

I'd watch it if I happened to in front of the TV when it was on. Otherwise I wouldn't bother. I had no idea when it was on today; I just stumbled onto it by accident. It would be the same no matter who was participating.

But then, I don't watch gymnastics either. I agree that it is cool to see people do difficult dunks. But what does it really have to do with basketball? It's the same two points no matter how impressive the dunk is. Gymnasts do impressive things too. Dunks are about athleticism, not basketball, and all sports have terrific athletes.

I think John Wooden is posting for Eric tonight. :)

Chris Anderson got absolutely screwed. They need to reserve 10's for only the most spectacular of slam dunks. There should be more scores 6-8. That second slam dunk by Richardson was probably the best ever seen in the contest. He should have won the award just for that dunk.

I'm not a huge fan of these contests anyways, but the college slam dunk contest is 10 times better than the NBA.

OK I'm ready for some real games now. Actually I was ready for them yesterday.
