In some regards they figure to run more this year, though it won't be as often that they have five runners on the floor. But the depth will allow them to have fresher legs late in the game plus, if Diaw, House or Bell can operate the break, they will run more when Nash is out.
I'd like to see D'Antoni substitute frequently and go deep into the bench so the other teams have the feeling the Suns are coming at them in waves of speed. There are drawbacks to having too many different lineups but in the long I think it would be a winning strategy - even in the playoffs. If they can push it hard enough and long enough so that other teams know they are going to end the game exhausted, they will hate stepping onto the floor to face the Suns.
Most gimmicks won't work in the playoffs but there is not much way to counter this one... almost any counter involves the opponents changing their normal substitution patterns and playing unusual lineups. So they're in a reactive mode from the start.
