Amare just wanted to go someplace where no one knows anything about basketball.

Doh!

I'm an ASU fan. Just throwing that one out there to beat the UA fans to the punch.

Herb Sendek needs to pull a Juwana Mann and dress Amare up in some disguise so he can play a few games for ASU! Amare starting, with Pendergraph coming off the bench, nice!

A guy who was close to being traded wouldn't be talking about enrolling in classes at the local college.

It's a bunch of hogwash.

Chris, do you really think they tell a guy like Amare Stoudemire that they have any interest in dealing him? I doubt he's going anywhere, but I'm sure there are issues between the coaches, possibly other players, and him.

Amare needs the rest. Let him go to school but don't play any pickup games, don't want to take the chance some scrub undercuts him.

I'm not quite sure how to break this to you, but ASU doesn't exactly have lofty admissions standards, particularly for in-state residents.

If George Bush got into Harvard Business School, STAT can get into ASU. It's all about the money...

Amare supposedly could not get into college out of high school (which is the main reason he went pro) so I was wondering how he could take classes now. It's not too difficult to understand. I'm assuming there's different standards for scholarship athletes and part-time working students.

I'm sure a donation to the ASU scholarship fund will get him in.

MESA! :thud:
If you've ever seen him or Marion in an interview you'd know that insinuation is true. They horribly misuse words, have miniscule vocabularies, and in :07 Seconds or Less they are revealed to not know a lot of basic stuff (geography, things going on in the world, etc). Not that I care either way, they are paid money to run fast and jump high, not read and write.
There is a HUGE difference between "dumb" and "uneducated". I don't know squat about Amare's intelligence; I just wanted to point out that just because he's uneducated doesn't mean he is dumb necessarily.

Ironically, Amare could actually play next to a legitimate 7-foot center at ASU in Boateng.

Signing up for that class can be a real "Headache".

But it's worth it. The weekly 4-hour lab consists of playing basketball on PlayStation with three other group members and betting on the outcome. The goal is to get several thousand dollars in the hole from betting on PlayStation before first semester ends.

If I lived neat ASU I would sign up for classes just to be Amare's classmate.

You're one of the best writers on this board now, so the hard work has paid off. Impressively done!

Thank you, thank you. :notworthy

Typing I'm fine with, it's the writing (like on paper, remember that?) part I suck at. :D
