I watched the first episode of this on Hulu last night.

I thought it was creepy and something that is different than most television shows.

Did anyone else see it?

Yeah, we didn't start a thread on it, but some of us have commented on the new fall shows thread. I thought it was very good. Some interesting characters and a plausible family dynamic (unlike the awful family in Terra Nova). The whole horror stuff is...incredible.
I especially like the 'dead' maid in the pilot that is either old or young and sexy, depending on who she is interacting with. And not just because of how hot the young maid is ;)

The pilot really hooked me and I'm looking forward to tonight's episode. FX's original content is blowing away everything on TV.

OMG this show is so twisted. Love it so far!!!!! As good as I think it has been I have to wonder how long they can keep the show fresh. There is only so many times they can keep going down in the basement before it gets old.

Show does nothing for me. I guess I shouldn't be surprised since I don't seem to like any of the shows Ryan Murphy does.

I've already deleted the show from my Season Pass list. It does nothing for me either. I probably would have given it a few more episodes but my wife disliked it even more than I did so it died a quick death. It seemed well done but it gave me a cast of characters that I really didn't care much about. I liked it a little better than Glee or Nip and Tuck but that's not saying much. All in all, I'd say I'm just not the audience that Murphy is aiming at.

The maid is super hot. Wow....

I just watched the first episode last night on demand and it was definitely odd but intriguing.

I have a feeling they are already dead like in The Others. After finding him in bed with the other woman, one of them murdered the other and the daughter.

I thought about it, but that would be too easy and cheap. I found it interesting that the house was protecting the mother and daughter.

Just watched the first two episodes. Not particularly original, but definitely watchable so far, although I too wonder how soon before they start running out of interesting plot lines. There's only so much you can do with a haunted house.

Watched the first ep last night on On Demand. It was good, not great but interesting.

Obviously not anything new at this stage but we'll see where they go with it.

I also wonder how long they can keep a haunted house story going.

Of course, I also wondered how long they could mine fresh material for a bunch of plane crash survivors on a deserted island (LOST)...

...Or the origin story of Superman (Smallville)...

...Or escaping from a prison (Prison Break)...

At least with American Horror Story, the mysticism is already built-in, so they can take the story in new and interesting directions without straining the preconceived reality of the show's viewers.

I watched the second episode on demand last night. (Already heard all about the first one.)

Kinda freaky, but I am a pretty big baby when it comes to scary movies and such. Had a bunch of weird dreams last night.

Oh well. Guess I am in for the long haul.

seen two and a half episodes and it is hard to follow...from what I can see, the absolute best thing this show has going for it is that it follows Sons of Anarchy... love me some Sons, reminds me of my childhood, lol.

definitely intrigued by the show, but I gotta admit, 3/4 of the way though episode 2 i was thinking to myself... come on... just move out of the damn house.

haunted house may work for a movie, but how long can they really stay there for a series?

Well, episode 3 covered that rather well, I should think. And it really doesn't look like anyone's going to want to buy the house either. I am definitely loving this show.

Im not sure I think its a good show, but I think its a good show. Make sense? It has all the trappings and stereotypes and developing plotlines of a standard horror story, which makes want to not like it. I dont love the main actors and/or their characters yet. But they have the creep factor down pat. I love Jessica Lange's character, and I love the nutjob boy patient.

Makes me wonder if theyre purposely playing within "the rules" of what peoples expectations of a horror story are, but they have decided that they can do it better. So far, I agree.

Yeah. Why anyone would buy the house is beyond me.

The only problem I have with the show is that the people are sometimes, well, stupid. I mean, we're rushing off to the hospital, but you stay here and keep the door locked. Yeah, cause THAT'S worked sooooo well in the past. I get that they are financially locked into the house, but I'd live in my car before returning to that place if that crap happened to me there.

Other than that, I really like the show.

I really enjoyed the episode last night. There are so many stories to follow and figure out. Tate is officially a ghost as suspected. It seems he went Columbine and offed himself. He's now confirmed as the son of the neighbor. He must have killed himself in the house and have to come to terms with the fact that he/one of his multiple personalities murdered those kids to move on.

Everyone is dead except for the current family, the neighbor lady, and the security guard. I'm not sure about the realtor or the burn victim guy, although I think he's still alive. Oh and Addy, the ds girl is now dead, and will now be haunting the house too.

I'm curious about the S&M ghost. We don't know that story yet.

What I really like about the show is the interwoven character interactions. I think you're right, that the burnt man is still alive. Like, he's getting ready to burn down the house, but Zachary Quinto tells him to eff off--not because he's trying to save the wife--whom he despises--but because he loves the house. All of that kind of interplay has made this a fascinating show.
