That was great! I love American Idol.

Paula had a hangover or was plastered...she's making a fool out of herself.

Not that she hasn't already.

Oh my. I really enjoyed the episode. I am thisclose to not making fun of Paula anymore.

Last season they hid the talent until the show actually began but threw us a few of the talents in the beginning (Pickler, Daughtry, Taylor).

Hopefully that's true this season too, because none of those people from last night's episode that was approved for Hollywood were impressive in any manner*.

*With exception to the Columbian girl. She was smoking hot. Simon's expression was priceless when she walked in.

When I watched this, I couldn't take my eyes off of Paula for fear of missing something.

I'm not going to watch this very much this season, but when I do I want a Paula-cam.

Abdul Explains Bizarre Behavior

American Idol judge Paula Abdul insists she behaved strangely during a series of TV appearances last week due to audio difficulties during the live interviews. The 44-year-old was promoting the upcoming season of the reality competition on a local Seattle, Washington TV station when she appeared to slur her words, sway in her seat and wink at the anchors. Abdul appeared on The Tonight Show Monday night in an effort to clear up reports she was intoxicated. When host Jay Leno asked her about her appearances, which have been widely circulated on the internet, she explained, "I did a big week of press all last week in New York, and, on the third day, I did one of those press junkets, where you're in that one little room and you're looking at one camera and there are 30 cities talking into your ear. I guess Alabama was in my ear and so was Seattle at the same time. So I'm answering questions to the wrong answers of the cities. So they're going, 'What the heck... what is she saying?'" The singer laughed off the incidents adding, "(It was) not my fault! I was having fun. I answered the right questions in one of the cities!"

Whatever Paula...you took too many oxycontin, it's ok. Just admit it and move on. You have a crushing pain condition, you take heavy painkillers. We get it...just dial it back some because you are making a fool of yourself, and even though I enjoy watching you melt down, it is pretty sad. Backing it up with lame excuses only makes you look worse.

Then I need to see the 'bama video/audio for confirmation Paula. Why isn't that readily available?

Randy Jackson was on NBC this morning saying Paula was tired from doing press junkets all day and was just exhausted. I don't remember him saying anything about Paula answering interviews for 2 different stations.

I still say it's alcohol. I've seen both behaviors plenty, and hers was more like alcohol than painkillers--or a combo of the two.

Oh, no doubt I think she's dropping some drinks in there with the painkillers. That's what probably kicks it off over the top...even a couple of drinks on heavy painkillers would make you a raving lunatic, like she appears.

That's not how it works. She may have heard 30 voices, but you're only on with one outlet at a time.

GO JORDAN SPARKS!!!

Daughter of former Maryvale HS standout and SUNDEVIL Phillippi SParks

She was great. She might have a shot to take the whole thing. Her mom was wearing a Cards hat too.

On another note, I couldn't help but notice how apparently staged a lot of the show is. I don't know why I haven't noticed it before, but for example, last night Jewel is the guest, so unbeleivably enough, the first contestant is a HUGE JEWEL FAN, who sucks. But not only is she a contestant who sucks, but somehow they had time to go film a bio on where she works and what not. When she doesn't get selected she goes into some serious acting about how unfair life is and what not. Then at the end of the show, there is a medley of the worst all singing "Kiss" by Prince, yet none of them sang that song in their audition. The little bio vinettes and the pure rediculousness of the contestants just seems too much to be real. Maybe I'm just a conspiracy theorist.
