All I've heard is that he "isn't ready." What the hell does that mean? As far as I know, he's healthy. Is it that he hasn't learned the playbook? Doesn't yet understand how to read a defense?

I ask because I'm completely miserable watching Hall (who I don't think has a rat's ass chance in Hell to be a good NFL QB) and Anderson. I could actually live watching Skelton make mistakes because I think he has the intelligence and arm strength to be a good NFL QB.

Part of me thinks that Whiz likes Skelton and wants to bring him along slowly and not throw him to the wolves like he did with Hall. If that's the case, I think I might be ok with it.

Heck he couldn't do much worse than Max. Oh yes Whiz only plays Guys of Faith. Warner, Hall...read into this what you may but it really looks like this to me.

??

Derek Anderson and Ben Roethlisberger were his guys, and who knows what kind of religion Skelton is...further, who cares?

Maybe he only plays guys whose favorite color is blue. Or people who like sci fi movies. Those theories are just as valid as the one you propose above...which is to say it's not worth the bandwidth its taking up.

Well his tangibles far outweight Max's intangibles & tangibles. If the season goes south I think he will start a game or two.

The way I see it, so far this year Big Red Skelton has less interceptions than Max "Pain" Hall.

I don't know why Whiz doesn't stick with the big lug.

Skelton is the only QB on this roster with any upside, I don't think they want to rush him to soon and ruin him.

I thought Hall did a good job vs the Saints. But he has looked very bad since.

I think we have to go with DA for now and if were in a blowout give Skelton a look.

He doesn't have the intangibles?

or moxie?

I'd guess this. It's kinda like that phrase "it's better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt." It's better to keep Skelton on the bench and have the fans hope he is good than throw him out there to the wolves and have the fans hate every single QB on the roster.

Can't read defenses in real time yet

Skelton will be the savior because of the things you don't necessarily see on the practice field or on game day.

The worst part is when they show Hall on the sideline next to DA, he looks like a high school kid, it is sad that I have to look forward to DA coming into the game.

He doesn't play because he is just too damn good for this league. In preseason NFL teams around the league were salivating at the chance to grab Skelton or Hall off the practice squad. Luckily Whiz had the foresight to keep them both because rarely do you see a team grab two QBs of the Future in one offseason, let alone one in the 5th round from Fordham and the other undrafted. The moxie and intangibles of those two are incredible. I think at some point we may see them both play at the same time. It is the things that don't necessarily show up on the field that make these two rugrats so special.

I am going with something along the lines of "he put up alright stats in division 1 and would get eaten alive in the NFL at this point in time." Joe Flacco tore it up in his final year of D1 ball and had nearly twice as many yards and nearly 3x the number of TD's as Skelton did in his final year. And before anyone says "he can't be worse than Derek Anderson"...he could easily be worse than Derek Anderson.

Well, he can't be much worse than Derek Anderson and he can't be any worse than Max Hall.
