1. Gerhart
2. McCoy
3. Tebow (lifetime achievement vote)

I also think McCoy will win but Gerhart would be my pick, I love the way that guy runs the football.

If it's MY top 3, i'll go with:

Kellen Moore 3,000+ yards 38TD's only 3 picks, and best QB rating in the country. Seeing him play live and reading defenses is amazing. These stats on someone from any other school would be a lock.

Colt McCoy: The big 12 game could push him over the top, especially after his last game.

Tim Tebow: On here not as much for stats this year, but more for career numbers and not losing a game.

I think there's some other players on the fringe out there as well. If I were a voter, the team record would play a huge factor for me. There's some amazing players on some average teams, but to me a Heisman candidate should be one that is a big reason for his teams record, and that the team would be totally lost without him.

The two most outstanding players I saw all year were Toby Gerhart and Golden Tate. That said I doubt all the fools from the midwest, south, and east will vote for a Pac-10 player not from USC.

I'd love to see Gerhart get it but I doubt he's seen enough outside the West Coast to win.

He's a great story, was the alltime leading rusher in California HS history but most teams recruiting him wanted to move him to FB or LB. USC was one of those and they said we're going to play you at FB, and we won't let you play baseball. So he picked Stanford, had a lot of injuries his first 2 seasons and then has been brilliant since. Great student, good kid, plays 2 sports, he's the epitome of what student athlete is supposed to mean so I would love to see him win.

The Heisman to me is just a popularity vote. All of these players are worthy to me to win. My vote is Tebow as long as he beats Alabama again. Even coming back from a concussion he has still won. He is THE most recognized athlete in College Football love him or hate him. He hasn't lost in 22 games. Though his stats are not as great as last year, that could be play calling due to new offense coordinator and additional runners on the team. But Tebow has my vote.

Pike is my next vote. He has been hurt which will hurt his chance. But he is a great player on yet another undefeated team.

Then Spiller with my third vote. But again you can make a good case for any of these players.

Tody Gerhart had 26 TD's for team with limited talent. He should win it.

I think you put Jake Locker on Alabama or Florida or Oklahoma or Texas and he's in the Heisman chase too.

His improvement this year is pretty impressive.

Suh should get first, second, and third place. He's the best player in college football. Probably the best player in college tennis and chess as well.

Tim Tebow?? Is he seriously getting votes this year? I'm shocked that there's even two votes for him. That's a total disgrace to the trophy.

Agreed. Mark May on KTAR called him the best defensive college player he's seen in 25 yrs (Reggie White).

The last defensive player to win was C. Woodson from Michigan.

I know you are a Nebraska homer but you are absolutely right on this.

Suh or Gerhart.
I would be happy with either one.
Both are warriors and deserve it.
Screw the pretty boy QBs!

Suh or Gerhart can't get the Heisman. That would require them to be total busts in the NFL. McCoy can be right up there with

Troy Smith Ohio State QB 2005

Jason White Oklahoma QB 2003

Eric Crouch Nebraska QB 2000

Chris Weinke Florida State QB 1999

Danny Wuerffel Florida QB 1995

Charlie Ward Florida State QB 1992

Gino Torretta Miami QB 1991

Andre Ware Houston QB 1988

Pat Sullivan Auburn QB 1970

Gary Beban UCLA QB 196

John Huarte Notre Dame QB 1963

Terry Baker Oregon QB 1962

If the Heismann weren't so over rated and useless, I would be disappointed. I have such low expectations of this committee, that I am very rarely disappointed. Toby Gerhart is a reincarnate Hobey Baker. He is an anomaly in an arena of misfits.

My only rationale is that Alabama will arguably be the odds on favorite to be the MNC. This is the team that garnered no other individual awards of significance. Maybe this was this make up call to help hype the game for the MNC.

I thought Ingram would be an afterthought after the Auburn game. His stock was dropping while Gerhart's was rising.

Whatever. The committee got it wrong, but it was a close vote. At least Tebow was no where near getting the trophy again. That would have been an epic fail on the committee's shoulders

As an individual player, who is worth more to the success of their team, Tebow or Ingram?

I have nothing against Ingram he's a very tough kid, reminds me a lot of Emmitt Smith the way he runs, and he does play in a very tough conference.

I guess my issue is appears that Gerhart only got first place votes from the West Coast, and got a ton of runner ups from the rest of the country.

You have 2 RB's, one led the other in yards, TD's (by a wide margin). the YPC number is close with an edge to Ingram and Ingram had more catches. Gerhart won the Doak Walker which is supposed to be the best RB so it's a bit hard to then lose the Heisman to another RB.

But Ingram is fine with me as would have Suh been, my only real complaint would have been Tebow or McCoy winning this year.

Well, it was really a surprise for once. I thought McCoy or Gerhart would win it. I didn't even see Ingram coming. You can see in wally's poll, that he tied tebow for fewest votes among the finalists, so I guess we were all surprised.

Thats sort of a loaded question because both teams are very talented across the board with little weaknesses. When Tebow went out with the concussion, the team barely missed a beat. You can make an argument about Gerhart being the cog in the wheel for his team. What would Stanford be without him all season? My guess is not a virtual tie for 2nd in the PAC 10. I cant speak for Ingram because I don't watch Crimson Tide football.

But based on your question, I would still pick Gerhart as Heisman.

Ingram led his team to the SEC Championship, defeating the monsters of that conference (Florida) and making Tebow, who many consider the best college football player EVER, look average at best...
Say what you want, but when it comes to football, the SEC is the epicenter of the world. Ingram had an incredible year and an incredible SEC title game. Gerhart was also incredible, but the difference is of course that he plays in the Pac 10, for a team that didn't come anywhere near the season Bama has produced, and he was up against a very legit candidate in Ingram.
