Ok, just something to think over.... from reading the articles about wanting to run the ball...... Would the Cardinals select Andrews and move him to one of the tackle positions and move Clement inside to Guard...

Shelton Clement Kendall Davis Andrews...... as our 5 starters

The trenches are where the games are one and lost if a team is truely committed to running the ball..... Of course that would mean that we really have committed alot of money to this line and we need production from them.

Can we afford to pick an OL with our 1st pick? Do you agree the game is won on the offensive & defensive lines??? Or was it just the coaching and we already have the Offensive line in place to make this team a winner with the right coaching???

Personally I think Gallery will go before Andrews, he's very good but he's overweight and I would be surprised if the Cards took another guy that big over a guy like Gallery.

They're both good players but I think if we're not going to take a QB it has to be someone like Taylor or Roy Williams. A couple of years ago I was arguing for McKinnie from Miami in round 1 but I don't think Gallery or Andrews are as sure a thing as he was.

The big number there is 365, Andrews is very good but he is FAT, and given the problems expressed this year with how big Davis and Clement were(remember the comments about them being overweight and not having good footwork) I would bet we're a bit leery to take another guy that big.

You could sure make a case for a line of LJ, a LG, Kendall, Davis and Gallery and trade AC but I get the impression that Green thinks we have the talent they just need to get in shape, be coached, and be challenged to play better.

I guess I wouldn't be mad I am always in favor of building an OL, but I think Taylor in particular, or a QB, are just too good to pass on this year.

I still like Manning with our 1st pick if he is there.....If he isn't??? I would go with the Best WR.....either Fitzgerald or Roy Williams.....However, I am torn about WR or trading down, because WR is deep in this draft and the 4th or 5th one taken could be the best one... only time will tell

I've always liked McAddley..and his hands are not nearly as bad as gilmores...plus McAddley will go over the middle. Now only if his hammy would stop bleeding...

I just don't think that we should to WR, either. But I really don't think that we should draft another offensive lineman with a #1 pick. It's like some people on this board think that it's like Madden, where you can build the whole team with "99" players. You can't.

I'd rather draft Kellen Winslow, Jr. than either Roy Williams or Larry "Stop the Hype Train; I'm Not That Good" Fitzgerald. I'm not sold on Rothelisberger, either.

Mostly because he is a safety. If you really want a safety you can always find a good one in FA or even later in the draft.

Taylor's the best safety in the land, the best defensive player in the land, and probably the best all around football player in the land. But you don't want him simply because he's a safety?

He's the perfect choice. Best player in the draft at a position that we need desperately.

Sean Taylor may have been born on April Fool’s Day, but this setup of a player who can cover like cornerback and hit like a linebacker is no practical joke. Taylor’s impressive size-speed combination has many labeling him as this year’s version of current Texan Andre Johnson, a freakish-sized athlete with freakish-sized talent.

Taylor, who also runs for the Hurricane track team, should easily post a 4.4 time in the forty when given the opportunity. Playing running back as well as defensive back in high school, Taylor set a Florida state record for touchdowns. The problem is safeties seem to have a shelf life, for every Dawkins or Roy Williams there's a Donivin Darius who not that long ago everyone said was on the cusp of being good, and now isn't.

So the reason there are FA's out there every year is a lot of them aren't very good safeties, they get a good contract, then don't play as well as they did earlier, and wind up out there. Jackson was a great find for us this year but guys like Dawkins and Williams are the exception to the rule. See no reason to think Taylor won't be too, a great safety for 8-10 years.
