Thanks Loyalty. Why isnt anyone asking this same question. We dropped 4 mill to sign a pompous over-the-hill Guard who can't pass block but ignored the opportunity to acquire McNabb or Campbell. If Whiz didn't have faith in Leinart, why wasn't a move made to bring in a starting QB?
I just got done emailing Sando re: Whisenhunt's judgement on this issue and why no member of the media has aske team officials or the coach directly why the team did not make a push for either QB if he had that much doubt and why leave the team exposed to a terrible option like D.A.

It is hard for me to not adhere to the motto, "In Whis we trust." But, I feel like this is his first MAJOR blunder as a HC.

Again what the hell are you people watching? When did he have a chance to step in and own the job? 2 preseason games with very limited playing time missing KEY offensive weapons and OL playing like garbage? You act like we play well in the preseason...was Kurt Warner OWNING the job as you say last preseason when we couldn't score a TD? I mean seriously what the hell is wrong with people. HE HAS NOT HAD A CHANCE YET to own the job. Give the damn guy the ball and an offensive gameplan besides handing it to Hightower for losses. KW has freaking set him up to look like crap what hell do people expect when you have NO RUNNING game and poor OL play and you only in for a few series?

Jusat heard from the horses mouth..for what it's worth. Matt is not his guy. This is not a test,,not a surprise to those in charge. If Anderson does well expect the Cards to trade Matt if they can. Whiz prefers DA!

And what happens if Anderson flops? Do you tell Matt he's the guy and expect him not to be overly worried about making a mistake and getting benched again? If what you say is true, Saturday shouldn't have anything to do with who starts the season.

Not like Leinart is out there throwing interceptions he has had NOTHING to work with so far and people make it sound like he is failing miserably. Yet the pathetic DA people somehow think he should start? I just don't get what some people are seeing.

If Leinart is benched again, his time in the desert is over!!! How could Wiz do that & honestly keep him on the roster? I'm starting to feel sorry for the kid to not get his fair shot at leading this team.

^ I am with you Bucky we all thought FINALLY he will get a real shot at leading this team and now we are talking about starting a proven terrible QB. Just mind boggling.

I am not giving up yet. I don't believe Anderson will capitalize on this opportunity.

Yes he absolutely would IMO.

I agree with Shane, I just don't see a lot of teams giving a spot on their 53 man roster for an undrafted rookie who wasn't in their camp. Remember he is undersized, his arm while adequate isn't special and he is old for a rookie(25).

If Whiz is starting Anderson I hope he does it fairly and only gives him Hightower in the backfield like he did Matt. If he gives DA Beanie and a better offensive gameplan then he gave Matt last week well it just tells us he wanted Matt to look bad and falter. If you truly want to evalute or compare him with Leinart DO NOT give him more to work with than you did Matt. If when Matt goes into the game he should get Wells and decent blocking like Anderson got and still looked bad. Leinart will not miss on all the short throws like DA. Hopefully this is a straight up competition and Whiz is not favoring DA becuase if its straight up Leinart will win IMO. Maybe Matt needs to get pissed off and just wing it around if thats what will show the coach what he wants to see. Who the hell knows what the coach is looking for at this point not like he has had a real opportunity to do anything.

Yep, the kid is a "dime a dozen" QB to me anyway. Heck you almost just described Leinart in a way. :)

If Hall does not make the 53, you say he will be on the PS, I say he gets picked up and on an active.

I want a large Bottle of Grey Goose! :)

What do you want?

Fun. Yes, I'll buy you one of those 1.75 liters and I had to google that they cost about $60.

Can't really ship liquor but I'll paypal you the cost.

Hmm, I'd like a black Dock Jersey but that is a little uneven. I'll up the pot to even it out if you want. :)

But with Whisenhunt saying that he had 'confidence' in Matt and that he 'earned the right to be starter' doesn't sit right with me. Either he was misleading us about Matt then or now.

I agree DCR. I feel very misled by this move. As I posted earlier I feel like I'm being lied to by the coach about this whole situation. He said he had confidence in him and he was the starter. Also him giving me the company line now of: "This doesn't mean anything." reallllly irritates me. Cmon Whis, this isn't election, I'm an adult, just give it to me straight. I believe that is total crap and Whis knows it. It means something when you bench a QB after 2 quarters of preseason play.

I know Matt hasn't had the best camp based on the things I read but I haven't heard Whis say anything like that. I dont feel like ML has really gotten a fair shake in the first two preseason games and DA has done nothing to inspire my aweful opinion of him. This smells like something Whis has intended doing all along, and I think by playing these kinds of games has an extremely negative effect on the team.

This is the one decision that he has made that made me really do a second take.

I agree, I have supported Whis pretty blindly until this. I dont like how this is playing out one bit.

I supported benching of Edge and was pretty luke warm about starting Warner. I'm very much against this one and completely reeks of desperation.... something I didn't expect from him. Which is weird because you could almost same the same thing about the 3rd preseason game with Leinart/Warner. This one just feels completely different. We aren't talking about a super bowl QB.

Seriously, I think the thing that upsets me the most about this is that I have 0 hope that the guy replacing ML can do anything. DA isn't a good QB, he got benched by probably the worst team in the NFL.

I don't really buy into using past history to make a coach immune to criticism. Whiz went to the Super Bowl, after underachieving mightly in the regular season, with Denny's guys. The term "Worst Playoff Team Ever" was not accurate, but because of some silly personnel moves that stifled the offense it appeared that way leading up to the playoffs. Whiz isn't God.

I will repeat....the WORST aspect of the move is that Derek Anderson is the replacement. I really do not think any of you realize the full implications of that statement. This isn't Warner stepping in. This is replacing a guy who you have invested a lot of time in with a known piece of garbage. Awful move.

I agree again. DA is barely a serviceable backup. As far as Whis goes; I still respect him as a coach and what he's done here. I realize that this man knows more than me about football and always will.

I'm not questioning that, but just because you respect someone and even trust them, that doesn't mean that they aren't going to make a bad decision. Right now, I feel like this is a bad decision but trust me, as a Cardinal fan nothing would please me more than to be proven wrong.
