Maybe this way we can find out how quickly he will be pulled so Whiz can see how Max does in relief... oh wait... we already know that one...Skelton to the rescue?

That is the tough part. IMO no matter who starts will more then likely be benched come the 2nd half if nothing is happening. Would the coach go to the 3rd string?

Apparently Whiz met up with John Kerry at the Waffle House for breakfast & took notes. Ugh.

I hope that this is the final change for the season.

We have seen enough from Max Hall, at least for this season.

DA can throw 2 INT's for TD's and he is shown that, so I don't see this move effecting the QB situation too much.

One can only hope that the last game has tempered our offensive coordinators, they will be more conservative inside the redzone.

In one hand you can respect that Whiz is trying to run his offense without caring who is in, but at this point in the season he has to come to grips with the fact he just doesn't have a good NFL QB.

Nothing you can do about that now of course, but come to grips with the situation before you, and start to do, to use his own words, "the things that will put his team in the best situation to win games."

He is going to have to modify his play calling. This is not too specific either. There are places where the team get run the ball where it has passed the ball in the past.

Playing hindsight is 20/20, and hashing out the what we have been over 1,000 time this week. If Whiz is just a little more conservative on offense we win the game despite 5 turnovers.

IMO, and laugh you will. This team is not that bad, not great either, but to be 3-4 with the amount of turnovers, and back breaking turnovers at that, is showing something.

Stop AP, and take advantage of the circus that the Vikings have become.

I can't see where Hall coming in to relieve Anderson is a good idea. But, this has been a strange season. I don't think Hall would do well in a releif role, and Skelton, IMO would be worse.

IF Skelton goes in the game, I bet he gets picked by a safety trying to throw between the CB and the S on the sideline. He likes that throw, he is good at that throw, but he will not expect the safety to close as quick as he will. In other words, it will be like watching Hall from the beginning, IMO.

Stick it out with Anderson, IMO. Not a great option, but the best we have.

Who are we going to win with then ?

LMAO...

Anderson was the only logical choice. Even if he tosses 4 INT's, we need to stick with DA until the season is officially toast. Max can then come in and cut his teeth. Otherwise, DA - sadly enough, is the best option for W's on this team...

Agreed. 100%

Just found it frustrating for someone to post who we would lose with, and yet add nothing to who the best QB to put in otherwise would be.

True that.

No point in throwing Max out there right now. He still has a lot to learn. Sadly, right now, DA gives us the best chance to win.

Is it next season yet?

Exactly how I feel, in a perfect world DA would not be your best QB but right now he is. He's shown he can make big plays, Hall hasn't shown that yet. The key to Hall keeping the job was extending drives and protecting the ball, he started to show he could extend some drives, but not enough, and he didn't protect the ball nearly well enough.

I don't think his career here is over as some said but I do think he got his shot and wasn't ready. The advantage he was supposed to have over DA was mental and it just didn't show on the field, at least not yet.

At this point we're just hoping we defend well enough and run well enough and that DA gets a hot streak similar to what he did the one year in Cleveland. It's unlikely but it's the best we have to hope for at QB.

The biggest threat to Hall's career, IMO. Is he has to throw the ball better. He has some of the ugliest, and slowest passes I have ever seen. Not all his passes are like that, but some are, and they are exploited for it.

He has had enough time with this team to learn what he needed to. If he just doesn't play horrible, we gotta shot on Sunday.

I think as a group we need to define horrible :D

I think we could win with 50% completions, and an INT.

But, the 50% completion would have to have a string of completions that result in at least two drives being extend.

In other words if DA can just keep his bad plays away from 3rd down, or at least contained then we have a good of a shot as any.

The Vikings are 2-5 for one reason or another.

That is good news. It gives us a better (though slim) chance of winning.

The coaches job is to win the game at all cost and not to train Hall. Anderson, in my opinion clearly gives us a better chance. At least one year in his life he was an all pro in the NFL. Hall has done nothing except regress, if that is possible. You can only regress so far. I would cut the guy if we had another QB. What a situation we are in. Between a rock and a hard place. Sort of like the Cards prior to Warner.

The 3rd QB rule has always been confusing to me. I looked it up and there are 45 players who dress for the game. If you have a 3rd bona-fide quarterback (they are not saying he has to be good, just a real QB) they allow him to dress as the 46th player. If he is used before the 4th quarter the other two quarterbacks are not eligible to re-enter the game. This was put in place to prevent teams from putting a position player in place as the 46th player. I am not sure if the 3rd QB can enter the game in the 4th quarter without restriction. I had always thought the third QB could only be used if the first 2 were injured.

With that in mind, it appears the only way Skelton would sniff the field is if he was moved to #2.

Russ or anyone, please correct my interpretation if it is not right.

I can't believe I'm going to type this, but I'm glad Whis made the right choice to start Derek Anderson. Ugh.

Yep, but these are the times bro. Just gotta accept what this team is right now: one can short of a six pack (the can being a decent QB). If DA does anything good this game, I think we win. Favre is damaged goods and they dont have a good receiver right now (Moss gone and S. Rice wont be ready according to Sirius radio).
