Yep, but these are the times bro. Just gotta accept what this team is right now: one can short of a six pack (the can being a decent QB). If DA does anything good this game, I think we win. Favre is damaged goods and they dont have a good receiver right now (Moss gone and S. Rice wont be ready according to Sirius radio).

It's true, we are catching Minnesota at arguable their most vulnerable point. If there is ever a chance for us to steal this game it is now...

And Harvin is injured. Not certain of his status for Sunday.

Sadly, we have zero options at the QB position. I'm pretty sure that I won't be able to watch much of the game. Watching DA at QB is like having molars pulled with no novacaine. In my almost 50 years of watching this team, DA has to be the most unwatchable QB we have ever had. Yes, he's more painful to watch than even Tom Tupa.

The 3rd QB rule has always been confusing to me. I looked it up and there are 45 players who dress for the game. If you have a 3rd bona-fide quarterback (they are not saying he has to be good, just a real QB) they allow him to dress as the 46th player. If he is used before the 4th quarter the other two quarterbacks are not eligible to re-enter the game. This was put in place to prevent teams from putting a position player in place as the 46th player. I am not sure if the 3rd QB can enter the game in the 4th quarter without restriction. I had always thought the third QB could only be used if the first 2 were injured.

With that in mind, it appears the only way Skelton would sniff the field is if he was moved to #2.

Russ or anyone, please correct my interpretation if it is not right.

If the 3rd QB is inactive, the only way he can come into a game is if the other 2 are hurt & they cannot return once the 3rd QB in on the field.

Not necessarily. The first two QBs don't have to be injured for the 3rd QB to be used. The coach can decide to insert the 3rd QB into the game at any point, regardless of the health of the first two. However, if it is prior to the start of the fourth quarter, then the first two QBs are ineligible to return for the remainder of the game. The 3rd QB can play in the 4th quarter without penalty.

If the Cards wanted to, they could play Skelton in the 4th quarter of any game without affecting DA or Hall's status.

Tom Tupa our leading passer in 1991. That team was awful. Didn't even manage 200 points, only had 16 Touchdowns all season, and scored 10 points or less in half their games.

Only the Cardinals wouldn't realize he was an all-pro punter not a QB. :D

OSU alert. Sad thing is he may be the best NFL QB to come out of OSU in the last 20 years.

This is a multifaceted form of stupid.

It goes all the way back to cutting Matt, thinking DA was good enough, then thinking Max was good enough with a waffle kicker.

I'd respect just going with Max like 5 or 6 games, a shot is a shot, if you are trying to tell me you thought an UDFA rookie QB would do better than what Max has then you're telling me that you don't know squat like I thought you did.

He's a friggen rookie, they look horrible at first, most of the time.

Yeah but Hall had Moxie so he was going to be different.

I am with you, hesitantly because Hall showed signs of progress early, and then, well you know. How ever unfortunate for the Cards, I do think that DA will give Hall plenty of chances to get back in there.
I still am not on the too small for a QB boat. Either you can compete at this level or you can't. Max Hall hasn't had enough time to pin the suck card on.
I am glad DA is getting the start though, and I have been drinking the Hall-aid the whole time. I think he (Hall) needs a minute to readjust and realize what he can and can't do at this level.
We will see more Hall, DA will make sure of it, I just can't tell you when. :)

No he won't Dawg. DeWreck is going to resurrect and the Cards are going to win the West.

Oops I did it again. Nevermind, DA sucks. Worst passer I've ever seen. I can't believe the idiot Cardinals thought he was their best chance at winning a Super Bowl.

Anderson's going to start because we're going to have to pass the ball 45 times in this game. Think about when #7 starter in Minnesota, and understand that their defensive line is probably even better now (and ours is likely worse).

I'd love to see us run Beanie more, but this is not the game to do so. Minnesota's 13th in the NFL in rushing defense, but they're T10 in YPA allowed. Teams are completing 63.4% of their passes against the Vikings right now. That's 21st in the NFL.
