Andre Drummond was labeled the 'physical beast' of the 2012 NBA Draft by Sam Amick of Sports Illustrated.

Drummond is "278 pounds with 7.5 percent body fat. He said his vertical leap today was 38 inches. He was disappointed - said he's hit 40 before. He measured 6-9 3/4 w/out shoes, 6-11 3/4 w/ shoes, with a 7-6 1/4 wingspan," wrote Amick.

Drummond told Marc J. Spears of Yahoo! Sports that he would love a one-on-one workout for the Hornets against Anthony Davis.

"I don't think we can get it done," said Drummond. "I'd love for it to happen."

Those are insane numbers. 280lbs 7.5% bodyfat? 7' in shoes and 7'6+ wingspan comined with 40" vertical leap? Ladies and gentleman those measurements make Dwight Howard jealous.

Too bad we can't take a flyer on him despite his underwhelming freshman season and his disastrous freethrow shooting. Maybe it was really more about the UCONN mess that held him back and lack of pro coaching and environment.

Would give up Gortat+Morris in a heartbeat for a pick that nets Drummond. Start rebuild around Drummond, Dudley, #13 and whoever we sign in free agency.

Or Dudley, Morris and #13 for Drummond if that is what it takes. Play Drummond at the 4 and Gortat at the 5.

Say we could get him for Gortat and Morris.

Sign Brook Lopez.

C - Andre Drummond / Robin Lopez
PF - Brook Lopez / Channing Frye

We would have incredible size and length in the frontcourt. 4 guys that are at least 6'11 if not 7'. Get Perry Jones III at #13 to play at SF and you have basically 3 7 footers in the frontcourt.

My favorite Andre Drummond mix

I need to get back on the bandwagon because a few weeks ago I thought he was not worth a top 10 pick after the horrid season he had.

What kinds of games are those on the mix tape. They look like high school games.

What kind of basketball shoe makes someone a full 2 inches taller?

Interesting. Just saw the Drummond interview. He was listing the teams that he has spoken to, and Phoenix was the 3rd team he mentioned.

Does anyone really think he will still be there at 13? Nbadraft.net has him going @3 to the Wizards. I don't think we have the pieces to move up that high and apparently management wants to address the perimeter from everything I am reading.

No. But there are many scenarios that can play out on draft day.

Unlike Perry Jones III, Drummond is a guy I'd be willing to take a flyer on(if the Suns found themselves in a position to draft him), despite the fact I don't think either comes close to realizing their potential.

Draftexpress lists his standing reach at only 9'1.5". Pretty terrible for a 7 footer if accurate, reach is much more important than wingspan for bigmen.

Reports indicate that CHAR is looking to trade the #2 pick. Supposedly Thomas Robinson who is considered the likely #2 pick hasn't heard from them but has heard from WAS. Maybe CHAR is looking at Kidd-Gilchrist but word on the street is that they are not in "love" with anyone after Davis.

I'll give him 6'11", but unless he's going to wear those platform shoes while he actually plays basketball he's not 7'0". He must have incredibly broad shoulders, a big head, long neck, or some combination of those attributes to have that kind of wingspan and only a 9'1.5" standing reach. That said, he is incredibly athletic for his size.

Of course everybody's known for the last year what a big, athletic freak Drummond is. The question is whether he can actually play and whether he lacks the motor/motivation.

I want to know if we are the ones who gave the promise to that kid from Syracuse.

Waiters does not fit the Suns normal targets..

Many say he is a douche and has other issues.

We also had no workouts before the combine and Gambo also reported the Suns are not the team that promised him.

Thank god if we picked Waiters over Rivers... I think Waiters is a poor mans Bradley Beal. He can do some of every thing but Beal is just better, Rivers is better off the dribble and in isolation, Ross is the better athlete and shooter.

Lamb is just plain stupid.

Drummond can at least articulate himself.

Were all of these guys short arming their standing reaches? How the hell does Miles Plumlee have a standing reach of 8'8" when he is just shy of 7 feet tall with over a 7 foot wingspan? Myers Leonard is enormous. He's 7'1" with a 7'3" wing span, yet he is standing reach was just 9'0.5". I understand a few people with these weird measurements, but it seems like most everybody was like this. John Henson is incredibly long with a 7'5" wingspan and a 9'3.5".

Sure he does! Incredibly inefficient shooter who can't play defense. That's exactly the kind of a player Phoenix likes to target.

While there are players I'd prefer over Waiters, he is one of the best defensive guards in the draft. I wouldn't call him inefficient either, streaky maybe.

I must confess I haven't watched Syracuse as much as I used to, but Boehim is a huge zone fan, so I am rather unimpressed with any "defender" that comes from Syracuse. I am not convinced he will be quick enough to guard PGs or tall enough to defend SGs.

You are actually right- I am being cynical to some degree, but the point is that Waiters is really a player we don't need. Chris Sanders made a good point in another thread that out of all the needs we have, a streaky combo guard is the least of them.

I don't mind a streaky jumper with a guy who gets to the rim consistently and has good play making ability. It's not like he's a chucker who takes a lot of bad shots. I think he'll be similar to Stuckey which isn't bad at the 13th pick, but there are players I'd prefer.

Would love to get Henson. He will be a difference maker.

I think John Henson is the biggest stiff in the entire draft. Mechanical player.

Reminds me of Keon Clark.
