Mendenhall is scheduled for free agency, and Ryan Williams is a bust. Do you want to go into 2014 depending on a fifth and sixth round pick as your starters?

I don't know if that's such a risk. Only 3 of the top 10 rushers from last season were taken before the 3rd round.

Your comparison of Cooper to Williams is asinine. It's quite laughable really.

I have to agree. Comparing the two injuries and situations is apples and oranges. Williams ruptured his patella, which typically is a 10-12 month recovery plus lingering pain and weakness afterwards. Cooper broke his tibia, which is a 10-12 week recovery and an injury from which one can fully recover. The team even considered putting Coop on IR/DFR so he could come back at some point.

I would venture to guess Coop will be back by OTAs at worst.

Ryan Williams as, IIRC, back by OTAs, as well. Remember ZOOM?

I think that Cooper will come back from the injury better than Williams did, but that's not to say that we can just assume that Cooper is going to walk in March 1, 2014 as a Pro Bowl-caliber lineman. He's never had to deal with an injury like this before, and he won't have played real football in more than a year. Maybe he comes in and watches film and works with his linemates or whatever; maybe he doesn't.

But it's not assumed that Jonathan Cooper is going to come back as good or better than he left.

Worst, as good, better is all speculative, at this point. But, attempting to keep the Williams comparison alive is pure balderdash (imo).

Well we've seen today why Andre Roberts leaving would have little impact on the football team. Good job Taylor.

Doesn't matter. The Cards could find good WRs at a garage sale. Too bad they can't do that with any other position.

Says Jason Mcaddley and Larry Foster ;)
