INteresting story, Floyd said Johnson demanded a guaranteed starting spot this year as a soph, floyd balked at that, so Johnson transferred out. Looking at Cincy, Baylor, So. Miss(coached by Floyd's buddy Larry Eustachy), Seton Hall and apparently now Oregon State. Then rumors surfaced that Johnson was academically ineligible, that was denied.

Now Daily News reporter Scott Wolf has in his blog section that he has confirmed that Johnson was "academically disqualified" from USC and that it will hurt their APR. Remembering that usc lost 2 rides before because of Pruitt and Lod Stewart, that would suggest at least they will lose one ride over Johnson if Wolf's story is accurate. Many people assumed Johnson's leaving was to open a scholarship up for transfer Alex Stepheson, if they lose the ride to APR they wouldn't have a ride for Alex without someone else leaving or say Romeo Miller agreeing to pay his own way. At this point USC appears to be the odds on favorite to get Stepheson but this kind of clouds that issue.

Never a dull moment with Tim Floyd.
