OK! Carlos Quentin got hit by a pitch again tonight - 41 - breaking the all-time Minor League record.

Now, lets see if he can bat .400 for the season. He's around .374 right now. Or a successful steal - that's a goal! :D

Hit again in the sixth inning, on the foot - 42!

Im not sure thats a record Id want him to have. Nevertheless, I hope he keeps tearing it up when he's in a Dbacks uni in a year or two.

Does Quentin really hang his elbow over the plate, or does he bat RIGHT on the plate?

Or is he one of those guys who wont move at all when a ball comes toward them?

OK, I am completely bewildered - neither Conor nor Carlos have played at all the last 3 games. I missed most of those games (went to a Mercury game last night - What fun!) but not a word said or written anyplace about why. I thought maybe they were bumped up to Tucson for the final weekend, but can't find any evidence of that, either. Then I thought maybe they were sent to help Lancaster win their playoffs, but nope, not there, either.

Anybody have a clue?

The El Paso announcer said there are rumors - fairly strong ones - that there will be a "professional" baseball team in El Paso in 2005, to be pinned down in the next month or two. That could mean anything, including Independent League.

They just said the semi-official word is our Double-A team next year will either be Mobile Alabama or Knoxville, Tenn. Those are the only double-A teams that have severed ties with their existing parent clubs.
