Its a website that tracks the glam and trash that is inherent in the sleazy luxury that is the town of Scottsdale, Arizona.


For the record, I have no problem with athletes partying their asses off. I even advocate it. 90% of us would be right along side them if we had the chance. Ive been in the VIP rooms of some of the fancy clubs, its a blast. Ive done the bottle room adventures here and in Vegas.

The criticism is the constant carefree attitude Diaw has the year his huge contract kicks in. As avid fans see the duality of his passive and constant underperformance on the court, and his topless playboy antics off the court, we cant help but be frustrated with his poorly prioritized efforts. When nash goes out and makes a drunken fool of himself, we love it. Why? Because there isnt a doubt that he wakes up the next day and gives 110%. This is NOT the case with Doris "less shirts more pastries" Diaw.

Its easy to accuse fans of being jealous/sour grapes here, so much so that its too easy. Try seeing the bigger picture of hardcore suns fans not seeing the effort put in and being frustrated to no end.

That's giving it way too much credit. It's a website similar to the trash mags with the great headlines you laugh at while you're waiting in line to check out at the supermarket. The pix are there to launch comments. Read about a dozen of the "I was there" posts by the wannabes. On a scale of 1-10, any quotes from that board have a credibility of -0.

You'll see about all of the Suns in downtown Scottsdale partying (among other places). Cardinals players, dbacks players, sports players and celebrities in general. After games, night before games...whoops.

TBH because I've seen and heard of so many Suns players out partying over the past couple of years, I'd say this years team parties about as hard as Barkley's. I don't say out parties because hey it's Charles, and we have no Charles on our team this year. But what they lack in luster and over the top personality they make up in frequency.

I don't mind the offseason stuff, I don't really mind football players drinking on a sunday night, monday or possibly a tuesday, but if I don't see it myself, sometime my friend tells me things like, he was out partying last night, or was drunk last night, and sure enough x player is having a crappy baseball/football/basketball game (pro/college)

I always reply, if you're serving an upcoming opponent, you better be giving him doubles.

Of course you have to spot the players, and most do go unnoticed by the masses. Not ours here in phx generally, but other players from around the various leagues/colleges. I generally miss most of them, but my friend has an uncanny ability to zero in on people, he's been pointing them out to me for 15 years lol. I can spot them too, but man he has a gift at it. From malls-clubs from A list to b teamer, if you're within eye shot he'll spot you.

My point is, I wouldn't single out diaw, as just about all of the suns players party roughly as often as Diaw. So if they want to call him out they better call out pretty much every sport athlete in Phx, including Kurt Warner who has been seen in dowtown scottsdale at some clubs, albeit much less often than the rest. Then extend the same calling out to pretty much any athlete or celebrity.

That said though, any athlete that parties the night before a game, should be called out. But as a whole because someone is in a club at one time or another doesn't mean their game is suffering because of it.

Finally, if you think Diaw has poor taste, you should check the relative heffers that Matt Leniart has been seen with. No matt, you already are in a sling...baby don't shift the weight. You're rich now you don't have to buy in bulk. But ultimately does it really matter who they date? Hell Leniart could have any woman in the club, if he's taking the fatties, it only increases your chances for a hottie.

Is it me or does Diaw look like he has that persona of the french foreign guy who always tries to steal your gf in the movies lol. Maybe the photos are doctored, or like someone else said, maybe all from one night. Or he could just be flaunting it and doesn't care about being on dirtyscottsdale, and maybe even tries to get on there. From what I hear some people on there, DO want to be on there fwiw. Why not Diaw?

One thing is for certain...Diaw needs to step it up, because people are looking for any reason to bash him.

Agreed, CardsFan88. My nephew tends bar at Jackrabbit, a favorite with several of the players and I've heard some pretty funny stuff -- but so what? Historically the Suns have had bigger partiers than anyone on this team. Whether they spend their nights out clubbing or sitting home reading a book, all anyone really cares about is what they do on the court.

If anyone here can't admit that if they had a chance to experience their mid 20's thru mid 30's having the luxury of being a famously rich athlete they aren't being very honest with themselves. Just sayin'. Myself, i didn't settle in to a marriage and children till 30 so i had some good times...just without the famous rich athlete part.

Yup, definitely do see that "bigger picture", and am frustrated to no end by any lack of effort. So is everybody else, and it's been discussed at length here.

Yup, definitely stumped as to why anyone would want to start a thread blaming Diaw's lack of gametime effort on his taste in women, third-party rumors about him dating teenagers and reports on his hamburger consumption, or anything else dredged up out of pictures and comments on a tabloid website like DS. Throw in some of the vitriolic remarks made both in the original posts here -- and the quotes included -- and it sounds like pure muckraking (as opposed to any kind of valid analysis of the problem).

Actually Diaw may need to ***** around more and party more, maybe then he would be as aggressive as a reuben patterson. Suns fans are frustrated with the regular season play, but most suns fans dont consider the regular season as meaning much, kind of a dichotomy. Nash stated the other day that the team is not having fun, that suns fans consider every loss a disaster. Funny losses are disasters and wins mean nothing. I expect that the players look at the regular season as somewhat meaningless after the last few years. the Mavs appear to have the same outlook, and Popovich rests his players for even minor injuries. The spurs lost to the nuggets and have a losing road record, but I'll bet the spurs fanbase isnt all bent out of shape as they know how you play at the end of the year is what really matters.
