Another stupid rumor from last night.

I got a call from a friend in LA yesterday before the Laker game. He said the rumor was flying all over LA that the Lakers were going to tank one of the first 2 games. The reason? Shaq wants to win on their homecourt instead of sweeping Detroit and winning the final game in Detroit. Supposedly Shaq has a big party planned after the fifth game. Have you heard this Chap?

Well, if the Lakers were tanking Game 1, someone forgot to tell O'Neal.

Did you really get a call from your friend about this? And is that friend a Laker fan?

That's pretty ridiculous. If the loss is anyone's fault, it's Karl Malone's and Gary Payton's. They stunk up the place last night.

Well shooting 13-16 (or something like it) doesn't sound like trying to tank a game to me. Plain and simple, the better team won last night.

I just worry about Jack Nicholson's summer plans getting ruined if the Lakers don't win.
