Darren Urban on his blog thinks some progress is being made on A-dub's deal and that Q could be next in line.

It will be interesting to see if Q goes beyond changing agents and actually shows up for OTAs. If he really wants a new deal you'd think he'd want to get on Coach Whisenhunt's good side. :doi:

This seems to be the only choice Q had of resurrecting his image to an extent after all the bad vibes his association with Rosenhaus has produced. I said before, I understand the player's desire and the hard tactics agents use to get their player good contracts but Rosenhaus is a disgrace to the professionalism of agents and that did not help Boldin. This will help Boldin's image, his chances with the Cardinals getting a contract extentsion or a deal with another team.

Either way, I'm so happy Rosenhaus got fired and his image just got tarnished for predicting events and expectations which where total lies and a insult to the agents who play the contract game with some class

Boldin sees that teams, like Philly, have resrevations when it comes to dealing Rosenhaus. I think this was done to get more teams interested in trading for him with a more respectable agent.

On the surface, this looks like good news for the organization. It's tough to say if the switch will improve contract negotiations, but at least there seems to be a better chance he'll show up to OTA's. It's also kind of a dangerous move for Q. Having the number one villain in football finance absorb some of the media hits for you is a smart plan. If he still complains publicly and Rosenhaus isn't around to blame, Q will have a difficult time being viewed as the heart and soul of anything.

I'm guessing that Q signs with Tom Condon (Fitz agent), and Condon works not only a deal for Q, but also works to get Fitz restructured (as promised by Fitzy)...all at the same time....

If this happends I just may weep....:D

THAT IS AWESOME!!!!!

Great, great, great news.

As I said before Rosenhaus SCREWED Boldin and Dockett. Rosenhaus though he could weasel his way to a couple big commision payments by gettting a couple long term deals using the sign a 6 year deal, and get a new deal in 2 years, and complain if you don't technique.

This is just the best news I could have after a very piss poor day at work.

Teams are not afraid of dealing with Drew. Not even a little bit. Heck even the Cards signed two of his players this past offseason. If they were afraid then he wouldnt have the most active contracts in the league, 94 in all. by a pretty wide margin I might add.

I dont know if this is good, bad or indifferent for the Cardinals --

but I see this as being a face saving move by Q.

He knows that he cant sit out camp while under contract ( fines add up quickly)

He also knows he has to produce still to have any hope of getting paid.

This allows him to go about his business, show up at camp and play and effectively blame all the posturing on his agent.

Well it is interesting news at a time when there isn't anything happening in the NFL. However, we will just have to wait and see if this has any impact at all on Boldin.

What can we take from this? To me, not much. Boldin has surprised us before and he just did it again. Anquan sure is keeping this dead period interesting.

With these new developments, we can safely assume the high temperature at the Cards facility tomorrow will be between 96 to 99 degrees with clear skies. Anything beyond that is a blind guess.

What I take from this is the opportunity to see were Q really stood in the last year. Was it him or his agent? What Q does next will tell us that. I think it will tell the organization the same thing and will help them decide what they should do with him.

Also, to a certain extent, I think Q realizes that this could be costing him more than just lost salary. It has hurt his image and possible endorsements.

Got to say I dont think it tells us that at all. It was Q saying it and doing all of those things. Unless you think Q is a puppet or a moron it was Q and Q alone who made his stand, he makes the final decisions, not his agent. Either he took bad advice which was his choice to take or he did it on his own, it doesnt matter, Q is a big boy and everything that went down in the past was on him and him alone.

The only thing it tells us is that he changed his mind, TODAY. What that change is, has yet to be determined.

If you are right, bankybruce, this truly is a happy day!

You can take what ever your want from it, but I will wait to see his next move. I think Drew has more influence on players than you think. Otherwise, a lot of WR's in the NFL have the exact same personalities.

This is the first step toward the happiest of solutions: Boldin rectifies his image, a new agent helps him to understand his market and he signs a new contract with the Cardinals that benefits both him and the organization, and we can all get back to being totally jacked on our fast-flying Cardinals!

Well, now we'll see if it was Q or Drew calling the shots. I suspect Boldin's stance won't change much.

...unless it's already changed and this is the first step towards repairing his image--firing Rosenhaus and blaming it all on him.

Yup. I suspect this is a face saving move by Boldin. The only part that must change now is Boldin's expectation of the Cardinals. Hopefully that will happen.

That's the best Cardinals related news I've heard in a while. Hopefully he pulls his head out of his ass and tries to make some progress on a new deal.

Lauraw has "linkage" deficiencies: http://www.azcardinals.com/news/detail.php?PRKey=3017 probably because of her red font!

(Don't get me wrong, I think having a red font is hot)

Still, the comments by Dansby make me wonder if maybe he is open to a deal after all and everything else was designed to improve negotiating position.

Whether Q's situation is resolved with Cards or not, this is a great move...

I read about fans from many teams complaining about Drew. It is nice that it is a CARDINAL who fired him.

The big positive I see from this move is that any contract that Tom Condon or Eugene Parker negotiate for Anquan is likely to be a contract for x years. Anything that Rosenhaus negotiated was likely to only be good for a year or two before Q is right back at the table.

Other agents seem to be able to negotiate contracts that keep their clients happy for the length or most of the length of the deal. That's what I'd expect to happen.

I'd also expect a couple of bonus clauses for making the pro bowl and stuff like that. It sure worked well for Kurt.
