If this is true I think this is great news.

Why? Anquan is telling Rosenhaus exactly what to turn down and/or accept. People fire their agents for one reason only - not making them enough money. If anything this will only make re-signing Anquan more difficult as Rosenhaus and Graves get along pretty well and Q's new agent is only going to try and make a splash.

Also, I hate to say this, but if Quan really wants out and Drew (who is known for always keeping negotiations open) was pushing him to the bargaining table.. could he be going with a new agent because he doesn't want his agent pushing a deal with the Cards?

Or he has seen the writing on the wall and how they took care of Fritz last year, took care of Warner this year (both of which took time to achieve) and still wants to be a part of this. It would give an out to say my manager was telling me to say this or say that. Heck, he even told me not to celebrate with my teammates after the NFC Championship.

If this is true it will be interesting to see which Boldin appears.

wow that would be awesome...

But we'll never really be rid of Drew... He's still Dockett, Rolle, and Watson's agent. :(

And that could very well be the reason he might can Rosenhaus. It could be to his benefit to get an agent without a conflict of interest.

Boldin knows that Drew Rosenhaus has to go watch TO do push-ups in his driveway and won't have the time for Q!

I think firing Rosenhaus would be a way of staying here and saving face, all at the same time.

Q has probably realized that his leverage is next to zero. The Cardinals called his/Rosenhaus' bluff on the whole "trade me or I will be a distraction" thing.

How does a proud guy like Q take an extension from the Cardinals after saying he doesnt want one and only wants to leave?

Simple -- make Drew the fall guy, say that the lobbying from Kurt made an impact and move on with life.

Well, if I hear it on the NFL Network, I'll consider it a rumour with legs.. nothing more.

I agree, but to Jude's credit he probably has the most Cardinals sources of any local news pesonality and usually scoops other stations. Moreover he's (in my mind) generally the most reputable sportscaster in the Valley

Do it Q - I was thinking the same thing - be pissed at Drew for your current contract... not the Cardinals!

Could it be thay Q is learning more from Warner than just hot routes? Perhaps, just perhaps, he's learned from this whole Warner deal, that there are win/win situations & that overall, life is generally better that way. Can you imagine the loyalty Q must feel towards Warner?

There's no "I" in team. The more these guys continue to learn that, the more of a force we will become. A lot of good examples of that on this team. Warner, Berry, Wilson, etc. I don't know what Q is really thinking, but if it's along these lines, next year is going to be a lot of fun.

I like it.

It will be interesting to see how this all plays out. I think almost all of us were shocked when Q became so vocally upset and demanding. It will be interesting to see if thats how Q really is or if it was simply the advice of Drew and now Q is upset at hurting his public image without anything of benefit coming of it (yet).

Yes, sir....make Drew the fall guy and have the new agent negotiate a reasonable Agreement rewarding Q for his effort and comeback from a damn busted face....love it....team, team, team......

Reminder - It hasn't actually happened; it's only being considered (according to one report).

That said - I could never understand the chemistry between Drew and Q (other than that their names rhyme).

Rosenhaus comes across as a Drama Queen.

Q is more a "killer" (i.e. he says something once, doesn't repeat it and then pulls the trigger).

I'm guessing that Boldin isn't too thrilled that he was persuaded by Rosenhaus to say stuff he didn't want to say as a negotiating ploy. Result - Nothing happened.

Meanwhile Kurt Warner - while saying nothing but nice things about the Cardinals throughout his negotiations- does what he has to do. He stays positive but takes the jet to SF (to perhaps force the issue). Result - Deal gets done. Warner remains positive throughout.

Maybe Q feels that Bartelstein's less confrontational (but still good at applying the pressure) way of doing business proved more effective than Drew's.

(Of course, there's also the fact that Kurt was a UFA while Anquan still has 2 years left on his current contract. There's that).

I wonder if he sees how Warner's agent leveraged with sugar vs vinegar and got what he wanted and didn't make his client look like the ass. It is amazing how much Q's reputation has been tarnished over the past year. He was the golden boy who was never mentioned in the same sentence as Owens and Johnson and now they are characterized as the same. It would be wise to get a new agent, make this work and let everyone forget the ugly Q we have seen lately. Drew is going to be busy looking for a home for TO anyway.

The only challenge would be if the team is unwilling to extend him until next year. If they plan to do it anyway, it would be worth doing it now if possible to regain some team unity, deal a blow to Rosenhaus and send a message that the Cards will not be leveraged with bush league tactics. As long as the team doesn't say any of this they can save face with Drew and should have no problem working with him on other player deals.

haha, yeah because the local media really has no insights, especially being local and what not.

No, because from what has been written, your local talking head didn't source his opinion... (i.e) Q, someone close to Q, Cards FO, someone close to Cards FO.

When it appears on the NFL Network, I'd expect that they would have found sources to support this piece of news, or someone to refute.

When I lived near the Rams' camp I used to get my best info at the laundramat a block away. Get a bunch of players together for an hour folding their laundry and they'd talk about everything!
