Lomax to Green 84
Hall of Famer
This has probably already been discussed, and if so I apologize for being redundant, but I find it very interesting that Anquan and especially his agent have drastically changed their tactics in regards to the contract and trade demands. Anquan and his agent have been eerily quiet ever since the end of the season.
Here are the possible reasons I can see why he has changed his tactics:
1. Anquan is a very smart guy (true) and realizes that he is damaging his image and is not improving the situation by speaking out in the media.
2. Anquan and his agent have decided to delay the public assault on the Cardinals until a more opportune time (draft-Late April).
3. Anquan and the Cardinals have met and the organization has given him a contract offer that may not be exactly what he wants but is significantly more than the offer he recieved last offseason. He sees progress and is willing to allow for more time for a deal to be hashed out.
4. Anquan and the Cardinals have met and have privately agreed to part ways assuming the Cardinals get fair compensation in return. Boldin and his agent agree to stop bashing the Cards publically and agree to help facilitate a trade that is mutually beneficial.
I am leaning more towards #4. I think the Cardinals view Anquan as a fantastic player and core guy, but they also see a team that was 5-1 last year without his services and a team that averaged close to 30 points per game with him on the sidelines. They see an opportunity to seriously improve the talent base of this team, solidify weak areas, and balance the team.
