With it almost a foregone conclusion that we will be trading Shelton does it not seem like the wise thing to do would be to keep Clement? He is at least experienced and good enough in a pinch shuold someone get injured.

He may be a pricey back-up. But with the current situation it would seem the right thing to do IMO.

One or two injuries and this O-line is screwed yet again.

I agree, depth on the O-line is scary. Leckey, Wakefield, and Clement are not world beaters. It was dissapointed that Green said the line was set. I still hope we look at another vet pick up, or at least the draft to get a good young guard.

It would be great to trade Clement for a good guard.

I don't, at all, believe the line is set. And, we will get more veterans. It may not be until summer, but we will get others. I wouldn't mind if we kept Clement though.

I think there is plenty of depth out there for a lot less. I'd take a 6th for Clement. What happened to him. Didn't he play LT for a few games early on in his career and do pretty good? I would definately not mind him on the team though. I think it depends on what shakes down. If another vet can come in for less, trade him. If not, we are no worse off.

Ever get the impression Denny says something, then goes home to his computer and watch us flip out on the message board?

I hope they trade Clement. Get a 6th for him or even a 7th I will not mind. Use it to draft someone that does not whiff at air and get beat by every bull rusher. Does anyone know how many sacks he gave up in limited action last year ??? At times he seems like a complete revolving door and he loses all concentration

Wasn't that a knock on him coming out of college. Bad in spaces and loses concenration at times. For how big he is we should have a lot more push, however he seems to get pushed around to much.,

Baerring another pickup in FA or the draft, I think he ought to start at RG. One way or the other he should (and I think will) be retained.

In a pinch he could start at G or T, I think.

Clement is bad. He hasn't been good since his arm injuries. He can't sustain blocks and he moves like the mafia gave him cement shoes.

Guys, he's terrible!! Dennis Green is getting rid of the terrible players... that's why we're actually going to be good this year. Let it happen, don't keep holding onto guys that suck year in and year out just because you know their name, jersey # and face.

Sorry Vince but that is some gross overexaggeration if I have ever seen any. He is no world beater. But he does have 4 years of starting experience at T in the NFL.

He has value especially as a back-up IMO

Let it go man. He sucks. He's sucked for about 3 years now. He was only average before that. I know you're probably so used to losing that you can't bear the thought of {gasp} a few good players on the team, but the man Green may have some good ideas on how to fill out the roster, and you might want to hear what he has to say. He has a real track record of results. Clement does not. Clement was a starter on a bad team and never had a 1000 yard rusher IIRC.

I agree ... He looked like a good prospect and has great size, but he just does not come through. Clement would do a lot better on another team, however I can not say the same on the Cards. The guy is to slow and gets beat everyway possible. Also he is to upright time to dump Cement for a draft pick if that is possible.

Actually he hasn't been GOOD since they fused the vertabrae in his back the second year.

Now he just flat out sucks.

Denny said the STARTING line was set......for now. When and if we move Shelton and Cement I think we'll add more depth.

He may have looked bad because the guys surrounding him were bad. Put a player with some good experienced guys around him and suddenly he becomes something he was not. A team game.
