Ugh. Because if he was still alive he'd roll into this forum to do so. He isnt speaking ill, hes stating a football opinion. Stop with the accusatory nature of your post to CB, it serves zero purpose other than to make you seem of higher moral character. Youre not.
My counter would be that, if I had to guess, NUMEROUS first round CB's over the years have trouble acclimating to the NFL, so to call him a bust is way over the top. But, having a rough first year, combined with the DV accusations made it an easily defended move by the Vikes to move on from him.
After being cleared of the charges, its an equally arguable position to say that The Cards giving him a shot, was also a good move, but one that we unfortunately will not be able to ever know the truth of.
Additionally, I tend to diverge from chees's viewpoint, because when your projected starting CB (regardless of how you feel about the Gladney move, theres no arguing the team made the attempt to address the situation) unexpectedly dies during the off season, it can oftentimes be near impossible to find an adequate replacement deep during that time. Teams arent looking to move on from players yet, as TC's havent even opened, and FA's arent getting a ton of looks because if they havent been picked up yet, theres a perceived belief of some sort of inadequacy to filll the role. SO to me, it makes sense that we waited until TC to fill Gladney's position.
