O.K., I guess you guys don't get my point. I like Antonio Smith and he is a good ball player but I find it odd that he would(now that he plays for the Texans) use an image while he was on the Cards and remove the bird from the helmet. That is not cool. He should put a picture of himself in his Texans uniform.

Agree, I loved Smith's heart and enthusiasm but Campbell has been an upgrade. Also, I don't think you can underestimate the benefit of Dockett playing next to you.

Huge value with CC over Antonio. The Cards will do the same with Dansby. Neither Antonio or KD58 are irreplaceable. The best thing about CC? He's only gonna get better.

There is merit to the New England/Philly draft for next year's need methodology. This is the single largest reason I lean towards Rolle leaving for a grotesquely large payday and Rashad Johnson starting for us next year.

With who, Highsmith? IMO, he is too undersized to be an everydown MLB.

We don't have anyone on the roster anywhere near ready to replace Dansby. It's why we've been paying him mad/crazy money the last two seasons.

Go Cards.

Well, we do have a first round draft pick this year. Any of the 3 USC linebackers would have filled a void (move Highsmith to OLB and insert a LB). There is also this time period to sign players they call Dansby. I'm sure a cheaper alternative is available than signing Dansby to a long term contract. I like Dansby quite a bit, but he's not worth the money he makes, and certainly is not irreplaceable.

He can read the game just as well as Dansby, evn drop back very well.

His tackling is the only question. Its not about size really, but about his tackling technique.

If Highsmith learns that this year, he may start as WILB next year. It would be quiet a steal for us as undrafted player to replace a wannabe superstar. It can save us a drftpick, we can maybe take a Offensive tackle early in the draft instead of an inside linebacker

We also need to draft OLBs again

Seriously! Calais is actually looking to be an upgrade over Smith and while not all where Smith fans, I dont think anyone really thought that would be the case.

Exactly. they are still trying to find his replacement. Dansby is ok, but nothing great - I'm sure they can find someone to better fit their system.

Lucky for us WILB in a 3-4 is one of the easier positions in to fill might be the easiest. So many different types of LB's can fill that roll and most can fill it right out of the gate as a rookie. SILB has to be strong enough and smart enough to fill the correct gap and fill it strong. Where as the WILB can free lance a little more concerning gap assignment considering the front 3 and the other 3 LB's have more gap responsibility then the WILB. Since the WILB can free lance a little more in the run game they just need to be smart enough to go into their correct passing zone responsibilites. Pretty much any athletic LB with decent tackling ability can fill that spot as a rookie and fil it well.

Also lucky for us I think the 2010 draft is chalk full of prospects that would fill in great. McLain, Spikes, Weatherspoon (as long as his listed weight of over 240 is his real weight), Sean Lee (maybe), And the guy I am loving right now AJ Edds of Iowa.
