The Suns are sending WAY too much in that trade. Ratliff is no more than an expiring contract, and Allen and Green are just role players. You are trading an All Star, 2 picks, and next years high pick, thats way too much.

but the suns get the #5..
they might get someone the will have an immediate impact for the team

That's good, because I have never considered Marion an immediate impact.

imo,
eventhough the suns will not receive equal trade value when they ship marion,
as long as everyone is health,
they get a rugged center and SF,
and diaw steps up his game again,
the suns are still title contenders..

Theo Ratliff is an outstanding shot blocker, but hardly a "rugged" center. He attains excellent defensive positioning, but he can be pushed around by larger centers...he's frequently injured...and he is nearing the end of his career.

No, that trade is terrible anyway, makes us no better and doesn't save us money in 07/08.
It would save $5/6m wouldn't it?

AS for making us better, we would lose Marion but Banks is no loss at all. We would gain the number 5 pick, Ratliff and Green. Allen could also give some more depth. Ratliff's contract is an expiring one also.
