Yeah, I know a lot of you knew D’Antoni was gone already, but I didn’t.

I simply thought he was doing what players do and seeing how much he is worth to other teams. That is it; maybe gain some more power in the process.

Truth is I would be less shocked if he went to the Bulls, but the Knicks?

I guess he is about money than winning. I mean seriously, going from a contender to not even a pretender for more cash really speaks highly of his character. So what if he and Kerr had their differences, you compromise. You don’t leave for an obscene about of money to coach a team that should be in the D-league.

Yeah, I know there is a thread already, but damn….

Mike, what are you smoking?

Who the hell do we seriously go after now for coach? Who out there is better than D’Antoni that is available, seriously…I am asking.

By the way, good luck Mike. Good luck coaching a team that shouldn’t even play on the same floor as the rest of the league. Good luck.

You can be sure of one thing next season, the knicks will make the playoffs with Walsh and D'antoni steering things. I know the money was influential in making his decision but i think it is the possibility of being declared the coach that turned it around when Isiah cant, The accolades he will recieve if this team win 50 games next season. Heck he might even win a second COY.
It is a gamble, he will either be ruined or revered again and i think it's the latter because things cant get any worse with the knicks.

agreed,i said the same in other thread..

"it's a good fit and he will be successful in New York,he will be one of the nominees for the coach of the year in 2009 due to win differences with the previous year.

First of all,he is going to team that has only won 23 games last year, after Thomas' horrible season, they re now excited, energized, this change will be like a revolution for the fans, franchise.

They are getting 2 top picks, maybe including Beasley. He has used Quentin well in PHX,I won't be surprised if 3-4 players of NY have career seasons.

He will demand some trades,go for Calderon,Diaw etc,I assume

With bold prediction, the Knicks will make the play-off's next season."

if you really think it was Knicks over Suns, Sarver has some jerseys he would also like to sell you.

Goodbye Mike SanAntoni'

It might have been your bailing, It might have been sarver an d kerr play.

I heavily lean toward sarver/kerr...but also because Mike SanAntoni' couldn't or wouldn't adapt to a system he is unfamiliar with.

Probably best for both parties, as trying to have a coach, coach in a way and style he is unfamiliar with might be the proverbial..square peg in a round hole.

I guess if we were determined to do things different, and with the window closing fast, this was the year to do it.

But exactly what the coaching options, I have no clue, and will getting a 2nd rate coach who can coach their ($arver, Kerr) way get better results than a (debatable) 1st rate coach who coaches in an unfamiliar way?

Not sure who I would want as coach. Larry Brown? Doug Collins? But those guys still have their baggage like old/retread/tool/etc.

Hopefully they have a candidate up their sleeve that fits.

But I hope we don't say give it to Eddie Johnson (I think he can coach, but I would think for him it would be best for it to be a young team where he can make his rookie coaching mistakes and it not matter much), same with a college coach.

Coach K was here during the playoffs, that would be interesting, but I highly, highly doubt it. But if $arver thinks like a business man, maybe he'll take the savings from not having to pay Mike SanAntoni' and add a little to get him.

I say Mike SanAntoni' because now that he's gone, his legacy of being owned by the spurs is complete and can't be overcome (here on the suns at least)

Be interesting to watch nonetheless

Nope, a bit happy! Now I get to see all the NY Knick fans here in NY cursing out D'Antoni for his moronic moves.
