They have Johnny Red Kerr as the second worst announcer and while I can not argue that he stinks, it is not for his lack of NBA knowlege. He is a homer the the nTH degree, but he knows basketball and that is his problem. He sounds like a grumpy old man that is always going on rants about fundamentals. He is a smart man, but he is also a grumpy old man who loves his Bulls.

I just don't like Marjele. He's unprofessional a lotta times. I like Doug Collins, Van Gundy and Mike whatever his name is. Van Gundy is both a great analyst (knows the game) and VERY funny. So he's a lot like me.. :D

That's what I like the most about him. Go figure.

Kevin Harlan ("OOOOOHHHH") and Bill Raftery ("THE BLOW BY", "with the kiss") have much cooler "excited" voices than Marv Albert.

Me too. Dan is like having a buddy that played semi-pro sitting with you on the couch watching the game. Dan makes it fun...and makes up for Gary Bender's unfortunately stumbling commentary.

During non-Suns feeds, we usually hook up the Al McCoy/Tim Kempton audio from NBA League Pass Online and mute the tv broadcast. There is a little delay but it's not too bad.

I think people have labeled EJ as a homer because he brings up every game [since Shaq arrived] that Amare is the best PF in the game, bar none. I think that ticks people off, even if it MIGHT be true. Bender would be better if he would stop saying "all of a sudden...". At least 30 times per game.

This is deserving of its own thread, but Gary Bender knows more about basketball than Eddie Johnson??????

Yeah...................Whatever.
Bender's ranking has got to be based on his reputation and past experience. Back in the day, he was a pretty elite national broadcaster. Every once in a while they'll show an old Finals game from the late 70s on NBA Hardwood Classics with Bender doing the play-by-play for CBS. He was also a pretty damn good college football broadcaster as well. He's just getting old and you know the mind is the first thing to go...

They are missing Ralph Lawler on this chart. He's gotta be in the upper left quadrant of the graph.
