Mars Volta was not that great, but APC Rocked! to bad they had to cut it short.

Yep, I was there too. Before the concert I considered The Mars Volta to be one of the worst bands I had ever heard. However, I was surprised that they didn't sound as bad as I expected them to and I kind of enjoyed them (I think it was because the singer was drowned out).

APC did rule and it was unfortunate that they had to end it about 3 songs short. I had a good time, but it made me long for another Tool concert much more.

Why did they have to end early?

Maynard had the flu.

The drummer also had a broken knee, but I don't think that had anything to do with them ending early.

The drummer was playing the bass drum with his left foot. His right knee was broken. He has some serious skill to be able to do that on the fly.

I was at the show too and thought APC was fantastic. One of the best live shows I've seen in recent years. Mars Volta wasn't so bad, it' just that their songs really didn't go anywhere and they reminded me of a throwback 70s jam band. Cool if you're a musician, but most people seemed unimpressed.
