Man, I thought you were being sarcastic. Damn! You had that bad of a time? Well. I find that hard to believe. Was it the band ?
The seats?

What was so dissappointing about this awesome set

Go, Save You, Spin The Black Circle, Last Exit, Even Flow, I Believe in Miracles by The Ramones, Interstellar Overdrive/Corduroy, Better Man, You Are, Grievance, Wishlist, Green Disease, Daughter/(Hey Ho Let's Go chant), Present Tense, Lukin, State of Love and Trust, Porch
encore: Last Kiss, Love Boat Captain, Down, Breath, Do The Evolution
encore 2: Hide Your Love Away, Crazy Mary, Know Your Rights, ****in' Up, Rockin' In The Free World w/ Ann and Nancy Wilson of Heart

To get Breath and State of love and trust on the same night, Man thats as rare as anything. And CRAZY MARY! Dude. I hope your being sarcastic.

Ugh. I left during Hide Your Love Away--I would have loved to have seen Crazy Mary...

The seats were absolutely horrible, and that set list might sound good, but it was performed with no energy at all. I hated it. Only Breath, Better Man and Porch were done with any skill. Besides Breath, that 1st encore was crap. And then when he started his rant against Bush it wasn't worth listening to.

I think my days of liking Pearl Jam might be over. They just weren't impressive at all.

(By the way, Daughter was the main reason I stuck around so long, and even that was a huge disappointment--and no RVM?? WTF?)

Pearl Jam Eyeing Fall

Band breaks from studio to rock Seattle record store

Before they join the Rolling Stones on stage September 28th in Pittsburgh, Pearl Jam plan to complete their eighth studio album. The Seattle rockers are now hoping for a fall release on J Records.

"There's a sense that we've done something special," says guitarist Stone Gossard of the sessions. "Everyone's been writing and participating in it . . . Asking a guy in the band how good the record is problematic, but to me it's freaking brilliant."

Pearl Jam -- Gossard, singer Eddie Vedder, guitarist Mike McCready, bassist Jeff Ament and drummer Matt Cameron -- have twenty-five songs that they plan to cut down to about twelve. Potential tracks include "Severed Hand," "Worldwide Suicide," "2x4," "Marker" and "Cold Concession."

According to Gossard, after almost fifteen years together, the band is closer than ever. "You realize how important your relationship is with your band, and how much you've learned from each other," he says. "You just become humbled and thankful."

The band returned to its humble roots on April 29th to perform for approximately 200 people at Easy Street Records in West Seattle. "Mike and I used to buy a lot of rock records from Easy Street back in the mid-Eighties," says Gossard of the show, which was part of a Coalition of Independent Music Stores convention. "We wanted to tip our hat to independent retailers: We're all aware of how important they are to the spirit of rock."

The show included the ***** new song "Crapshoot," Pearl Jam oldies such as "Even Flow" and Vedder dueting with X singer John Doe on his band's "The New World."

"It's the biggest honor that my store has ever had," says Easy Street owner Matt Vaughan. "As ridiculous as it seems that Pearl Jam would do an in-store, given that we're their neighborhood store it's a natural fit."

Pearl Jam Ready Harder CD
Guitarist McCready calls new songs "hard-rocking," with nods to punk and the Who

"It's a classic Pearl Jam record -- it's got the excitement of Vs. to it," guitarist Mike McCready says of the new CD his band has spent the past eight months recording in Seattle. "There's some powerful singing, and the music is pretty hard-rocking."

Produced by Adam Kasper (Soundgarden), the follow-up to 2002's Riot Act will be the band's first studio album for J Records. "It's really freeing to be on a new label," McCready says. "It feels like a brand new relationship and their excitement makes us feel confident about it."

Pearl Jam -- McCready, singer Eddie Vedder, guitarist Stone Gossard, bassist Jeff Ament and drummer Matt Cameron -- have eight songs in the can so far. McCready is especially psyched about "Severed Hand," a "heavy rocker" written by Gossard and "Worldwide Suicide," penned by Vedder. "['Worldwide'] is very ***** and Who-ish," Gossard says. "It'll catch your attention." Other tentative songs include "Marker," "Cold Concession" and "2x4."

"We all came up with different songs for ourselves," McCready says. "We came in, edited and kicked out ideas. Ed's been a hardcore workhorse, experimenting with intense, layered vocals. It's hard-edge with some pop feel."

The band, currently on a North American tour, will head back into the studio to finish the still-untitled disc in October, and hopes to have it in stores early next year. Meanwhile, Pearl Jam will offer fans digital downloads of their live shows at pearljam.com, beginning with their September 1st concert in George, Washington.
