I love lopez, he is definitely key and huge for the suns.. BUT. I am worried that if he comes back he will change things up and hurt us.. The suns are running an excellent system right now and with RoLo back it may hurt us with this run were having.

What do you think?

Not at all. That is the whole reason we keep playing Collins in his spot, so it doesn't disrupt rotations. And there is no way Lopez can be worse than Collins.

I would love to see a 75% Lopez over a 100% Collins, IMO.

If healthy Lopez should be able to do a good job on Bynum, if I'm not being too presumptuous.

I cant wait for him to return. Amare is going to benefit big time from his return too.

This is true on defense, but right now Collins does nothing on offense. Lopez was very involved in the offense before he got hurt. If he comes back missing shots and committing turnovers then he may hurt the team.

Yeah, plus gentry may keep him in longer and cut playing time from frye who has been pretty big lately.. I'd rather take frye's 3 point bombs over a couple extra put backs from robin.. Frye is pretty hot.

When/if we beat the Spurs and LA is the next match up, id like to see him back then. Lakers are going to be a mismatch if we cannot go up against their bigs. IMO, had OKC had some decent bigs on their team, they could have stretched it to 7 against them. Add Lopez and we have enough guys to legitimately take on Bynum, Gasol and Odom.

For now, he should rest for the duration of the 2nd round.

In a van...down by the river.
Pau Gasol/Lamar Odum/A.Bynum>>>>>Duncan/R.Jefferson/McDyess

We're gonna need very good minutes from Lopez. With Lopez in tail,Amare will punch through that LAKER frontline....although i think we'll see alot of Amare/Lopez/Frye up front if that series happens.

Lopez could have his vertebrae sticking out of his back and still be better than Collins.

Oh sure, just give the basketball gods another idea on how to rip out our hearts. Personally, I'd rather not put your theory to the test. I'd like a Robin Lopez with vertebrae intact and in place, please.

I am torn I would like to see him back just to get him into a real game before we face LA. Being up 3-0 would give us the option to keep him in longer in game 4. But if he is truely not ready then we need to sit him as much as possible until LA.

I'd like to see him play in the last game or two vs. San Antonio to help him continue to get back in game shape. When he comes back he will play limited minutes like Collins is, I'm sure, but we definitely do need him for the next round and hopefully the Finals as well.

If the Suns lead at halftime in Game 4, Lopez should start in the second half and get Collins's minutes.

If the Suns have any chance of matching the Lakers in length, Lopez has to be healthy, even though he pretty much sucked against the Lakers this year.

To be fair, Lopez was starting for only one of those games--we played the Lakers 3 times before Dec. 18th.

Collins is just occupying Lopez' position while he is out. He has done a commendable job considering he was an after thought... being claimed by the Suns off waivers. Definitely he has filled a role. However, there is no doubt the Suns are a better team with a healthy Lopez at center. The Suns were playing very well with Lopez at center before his injury.

Lopez is our starting center. Lopez > Collins & Frye. With respect to Frye, who has been money, there is a weak point in the Suns armor, an inside defensive presence. The Suns will need Lopez if they are to get past the Lakers.

In the game he started he had 6 points and 0 boards, so clearly Bynum isn't a good match up for him. Suns are going to have to keep a legit 5 on the floor for every minute Bynum plays, though, and Lopez is the Suns' best hope.

The Lakers are a LONG team, so we need all the length we can get out of our lineup. Lopez is our longest player. We need him on Gasol. Let Amare take Bynum. I want Lopez back, but I hope he is able to play well....

We will need Lopez against the Lakers without question...

(that is ofcourse, if we can manage to get one more against the Spurs)

After watching how dominant the Suns looked with Lopez starting, I cannot wait till he comes back. I doubt we can roll with the Lakers with the Lakers front-court of longer and mobile bigs without him

Amar'e was an excellent role player, manning the middle, in Game 3 vs. the Spurs.

As has been said by many in this post, the Lakers are big -- three deep.

We need Robin back so Amar'e can go back to being a monster on offense, stay healthy and stay out of foul trouble.

Frye can be very effective for instant offense off the bench and he has shown some improvement on defense of Centers, but this is the second season.

Improving from weak to mediocre on defense of Centers won't work from the next series on.

But I have confidence that Alvin will divide Lopez' and Frye's minutes effectively throughout the games.
