I called today...there were no promotions and the current figures are $46.99/6 months = $281.94. I think that was for regular service, not MAX. Anyone do better than that already?

Call several times and speak to several different people...threaten to leave (Assuming you're not under contract)...and get the Premier package for free while just paying for the Sunday Ticket. Works every time.

I had done that every year for like 6-7 years... last year when I said I was canceling, they said ok and canceled it. I did without it last year because I came over for a couple of games, Cards were on prime time a couple of games, plus I was traveling out of the country in December anyway.

Now it's the same as Mitch said.. $280 and no deals to be had. The whole thing changed when AT&T took over... btw I hate AT&T

More rant.... they upcharge you for Redzone too which just hacks me off and for being able to watch online when you're traveling.. more $$$ for that.

The deal I found last year was Verizon gives you Redzone on your phone only (can't cast it) for a measly $2 a month.. a bargain!! I just listened on the radio and watched Redzone through Verizon.

The deal have dried up since AT&T took over. We have been with direct since the beginning and all of that loyalty is meaningless now.

Dish gives it out for $5 a month. Can't beat that to.

We're moving before too long, and I'm planning to cut the cord when we do. I'm local and care mostly about the Cards (and can live with whatever network games are on beyond that) -- probably going to use Playstation Vue plus some ancillary subscriptions when we move.

On the rare occasion when I am traveling the day of a Cards game, I avoid all electronic communication and fire up Gamepass to watch the game when I'm settled.

I do all of this, head over to the cord cutter thread for ideas and advise if you need it. I havent had cable since like 2010. All the cardinal games are on TV and most everything else worth watching is available online.

Awesome, thanks! I didn't think I'd convince my wife, who has had DTV forever - but think I've got her convinced.

mine fought back about some of her shows but then I showed her all the garbage on hulu and netflix that I would never watch and there was enough of it that she was happy.

Also, once I got rabbit ears, she is hooked to all the local crime channels like justice network 12.3

Every year I get a deal. This year I called for something else entirely and the person asked if I still wanted Sunday Ticket. I told her I was concerned about the cost. She came back four payments of $25 for the ST Max. I took it!

That's the first time they have ever initiated deal making with me after 12 years.

I was actually canceling the HD Extra Pack. Which I then turn around and re-enable the three months free. Rinse and repeat.

Direct TV is so 10 years ago. Get over it.

I got it, including max, free this year but had to commit to keeping DTV another year. No biggie as I was planning to anyway.

That's the game. What seemed to work for me every year is saying that I needed to cancel my service to lower my bills and NFL Sunday ticket was the only reason I had DirecTV.

Never except the offer from the first service agent. They are not authorized to give you the best deal. Stick to your guns and they will send you to RETENTION. Those are the folks that can offer you really good incentives.

Heck I left last year and I am getting an offer for free HD Genie DVR, $200 Visa card, Free NFL Sunday ticket and 6 months of a couple pay channels I think.
