Anyone want to attempt to figure out how much cash the Cards now have?

This is the best update I could get.

After cutting Kevin Kolb, spotrac has us at $104.997 mil in salaries against the cap in 2013. This does not count the 2013 cap hits for the Jasper Brinkley, Jerraud Powes, Lorenzo Alexander and Rashad Johnson contracts. With a $123 mil salary cap, this would put us around $18 mil available before those 4 player's cap hits are factored in.

After cutting Kolb here is an estimated $ figure.

$90,080,441

Add the 14.5M for the 6 signed players and that should put us about 104.5M. They you add the Rookie pool of 6M and we should be at 110.5M.

http://www.overthecap.com/teamcap.php?Team=Cardinals&Year=2013

As of today we have 12.4M in dead money that we should get back in next years cap.

Is that 14.5 million this year? I don't know. That seems closer to total amount signed for those guys. (of course a few of them signed one year deals). It's more than that, but it seems most of the guys signed for 2 mill or less except for Alexander, whose hit is spread over three years.

But I don't know if that is true though. Remember we gained 7.5 million from Kolb, yet haven't spent that.

It's all so fluid right now lol. Hopefully we aren't strapped. From other people's earlier projections we had enough pacman. Perhaps we don't.

We'll see though.

edit: oh but remember our numbers can be higher than the official cap number because of the Redskin's/Cowboys cap evading deals in 2010 and the amount of 'carryover' that we had last season. This could mean our cap is 2-3 mill higher than the official salary cap. But not sure the exact figure.

You cannot count the rookies as joeshmo so aptly pointed out. Only the 2013 1st and possibly 2nd rounder will count toward the top 51 salaries, which is how the cap is determined. We were roughly $3mm over before Bradley and Gay were released, which put us close to $4mm under. Then you add in ADub $3mm, Beanie $1.5mm, Rhodes $6mm, and Kolb $7.5mm, which gave us ~$22mm to spend on FA and the two rookie contracts. Now if we back out the ~$18mm we've already spent on Johnson, Mendenhall, Bell, Powers, Alexander, Stanton, Shaugnessy, and Cason, that puts us somewhere in the ballpark of $4-5mm left. Needless to say we aren't signing Dummervil or anyone of consequence with what's left.

We have cut/let go of Wilson, Rhodes, Kolb, Beanie, Gray, Doucet, and Bradley and their cap savings are25.8M.

We have signed 8 players so far and an estimated cap hit is around 17.4M.

The Cardinals tried to figure it out, but apparently Rod Graves did now allow calculators in the facility. What I did find odd is that there are about 30 of these on eBay right now being sold by a RedBowTie69.

This is the first adding machine I ever used. It was so slow, I finally put it aside and just did the numbers in my head. It was quicker.:D

Again does that include the 'carryover' we potentially had (someone had the number a few months back we just didn't know IF they carried it over), as well as the amount we get to add because every team was given extra space to screw over Dallas and Washington because they took advantage of the uncapped year.

In other words, does that account for the 2 or 3 million or so of THAT...potentially?

That's right, forgot about Doucet... Another $2mm savings. That puts us around $6 - 7mm under. Factor in two rookie contracts at ~$2mm, which puts us back at $4 - 5mm left to spend in FA.

17m left in cap space but that doesn't include contracts for Brinkley, Alexander, Shaugnessy, Rashad Johnson and 2013 draft picks...

So we're basically done spending.

The carryover was used and we were about 2 to 3 million over after it was applied. You then subtract the cuts and add the new contracts, dead money in 2013, plus the rookie pool and a $2M contingency fund to reach the relative amount available.

There must be some money left for free agents as Kent Sommers thinks some will be in this week.

“@jjj285: @kentsomers any more player visits set up for this week?”--I'm sure there are but not that I know of
