Kerouac is banned. My decision.

Web sites where Cards haters can bitch to their hearts' contents are all over the web. THIS SITE ISN'T ONE OF THEM.

This site is for Cards fans who care. Who interprets that? I do. I pay the freight. If you don't like it, leave.

I made a mistake asking if I should ban Kerouac. Unprofessional? Yes. But I am an amateur.

Don't like my decision? Fine. Leave in protest. Go to the Azcentral site or the Cards official site to focus attention on your own superior opinions.

I owe you nothing. You owe me nothing except to care about the Cardinals.

Apologies to all for just not making the tough decision the first time. I started this web site because the Kerouacs of the world had ruined every other Cards web site.

Done. If we lose our fans and subsequently our press credentials, so be it. It costs me a bunch to do this and I hated to even show up on my own web site to read the crap Kerouac spewed.

I'm too old and beaten up to worry about what others think. From now on, I run this my way.
There will never again be a "ban" poll. I'll decide.

I was against banning Kerouac, but the way the anti-Card posters have pretty much ruined the message board at AZCardinals.com got me to reassess my position. Constructive criticism is a good thing, but constant, irrational bad-mouthing does get old.

I'm more negative than many of you know and Dave McGinnis got royally pissed off at me on Tuesday over something i said to him.

Skkorp, I don't post much but when I do it means that something has really ticked me off. And the other night was a culmination of reading just what you said. The negativity that the board has become.

Thank you for hosting a board that believes in the Cards, and gives every "true blue" fan his/hers place to talk about our team. Hopefully some of the other posters that I enjoyed reading so much will now decide to come back.

That's good to hear. Skkorp, it's your site, and a great one at that. Whatever decision you have made has to be respected by the board, period.

By the way, I'm dying to know what you said to Coach Mac ( Iknow you probably can't divulge what was said, but I'm still dying to know)

I voted no just cause I'm a free speech guy but as a business owner I know how something you started and pay for can somehow begin to tick you off.

It isn't ever easy to tell people they are hacking you off even if it's on your own dime.

So IMHO, if he wants to spew that stuff he needs to start his own board.

Skkorp---Please don't feel like you have to justify your position. It's your money, your site, and you're the boss. Sometimes as a boss, you have to make hard decisions because you're responsible not only to yourself, but to the people working for you (or in this case, the Card fans using this site). There's no room for absolute negativity on a fans only site. If you can't have a least a modicum of hope that your team is improving, why bother to be a fan. Thanks for making this a forum where a person can feel good about the Cards and not have to constantly defend their actions. You've done a great job and I applaud your effort.

I respect Skorp's decision because we are all invitados, and this is still the best site around for Cardinal fans, especially those of us in exile. I guess I just don't understand why we cannot just ignore what we don't like and get on with it.

Love this site... I don't even check the others, but a NEM or a Keriak (whatever) are our fault. If a poster is a ****** why respond, just ignore them, and the juvenile tit-for-tat ruins good threads. 'Don't fight a pig, you both get dirty and it likes it!' A responds just giving them juice, and each 'lover's quarrel' drags the quality of the board down - then skkorp has to toss someone and feels bad.

I have read your messages and I am also tired of the negativity and fighting the trend. I posted the original message a while back of giving up on the Cards. I feel your desparity and times of being tired are true to there words . This is your board to decide what you want and don't want and if you want to ban that guy than do it, but please don't feel bad about your decisions in life. We are all our own self person and sometimes when we make a stand when it is not our ground to fight on then we all have to face the consequence. Time to show some brass balls. Let's don't confuse negativity with realism....you have to call a spade a spade...but mindless negativity can ruin a forum.

The newest member here "hoop coach" and I used to frequent a Cards baseball forum. The negativity over there (and the baseball Cards are above .500) has become so bad that flame wars are extremely personal and threatening.

It's your call Skkorp and you have a responsibility to protect the integrity of the forum....I think you just did that.

Capital card said it for me..... I agree completely.

About a year ago I was having trouble getting access to the site (I kept getting dumped) I sent Skorp a note. not only did he fix the problem, he CALLED and left a message that it was fixed and apologized. I thought that was above and beyond what he needed to do. I sincerely thanked him and now this is the only site for cardinal football news for me.
Great site Skorrp I appreciate all you do, and the members that contribute their writings. Because with out them I would have very little news on the cards!!!

Skkorp: I agree wholeheartedly. This board has gotten extremely negative, and it seems that anything one would say, someone else would always counter with a negative even if it wasn't needed.

Great post above Buckeye Cardinal. You called it. There is a difference between being negative and being a realist. Realist know that things won't be good next year, but that things won't be as bad either.

As an original member of the old AOL Cards Corner, I want to thank you Skkorp for building and maintaining one of the best places on the internet for Cardinal fans to get together and talk Cards football, thru the good years and the bad years (any year of buddy ball).
