I agree. And I also guarantee none of it will have anything to do with the fact he scored 18 points in the second half of a final 4 game.

If he measures in at 6'7" without shoes with short arms and a mediocre vertical in workouts, he could score 50 tomorrow and it wouldn't matter ... the Suns will pass. Yet if he's 6'10" and has a great workout, he could score 2 points, have 1 rebound and miss every critical shot and free throw tomorrow and the Suns would still take him.

I just don't put one ounce of importance, based on history, on what he does in San Antonio this week.

I think "none" is too stong. Last year Carmelo, Wade, Hinrich and Ford did exceptionally well in March and I think it helped their status a little bit. Putting up good numbers against inferior talent is less impressive than against elite competition. But there is no doubt that a strong March won't make up for lack of talent.

Okafor is playing very well right now.

A nice turnaround jumper and he is playing very well against a 7'1 or so guy. He basically gets his hands on every rebound that bounces in his direction.

Ben Gordon made some nice plays.

Jerry Colangelo is at the game.

I was more impressed with Okafor's offense than earlier in the season. That little jumper he was hitting over the Aussie is really nice.

There is no way the Suns pass on him for an unproven HS kid.

No thanks.

I don't really one Ben Gordon either, but that was one-game. What the average for the tournament as a whole?

I understand what you're saying, but this just wasn't "one game". This was the national championship. If UConn had lost, we'd still be pointing at Gordon's 29% shooting and only 2 assists--in the biggest stage a college basketball player could be in. There's nothing more noticable for a college player than the national championship game.

Puhhhhlease.

He played much better than what stats would show. His shooting percentage is only down because he took a lot of really really tough shots.

And besides that I posted that about 10 minutes into the first half.

Ben Gordon has a great tournament.

He averaged over 20ppg for the tournament and over 90%FT.

I don't know how anybody can take you seriously. A guy has ONE good game and you think he's the next big thing. (Might not quite apply to Gordon, but it applies to every other player you watch)
