If he measures in at 6'7" without shoes with short arms and a mediocre vertical in workouts, he could score 50 tomorrow and it wouldn't matter ... the Suns will pass. Yet if he's 6'10" and has a great workout, he could score 2 points, have 1 rebound and miss every critical shot and free throw tomorrow and the Suns would still take him.
I just don't put one ounce of importance, based on history, on what he does in San Antonio this week.
I think "none" is too stong. Last year Carmelo, Wade, Hinrich and Ford did exceptionally well in March and I think it helped their status a little bit. Putting up good numbers against inferior talent is less impressive than against elite competition. But there is no doubt that a strong March won't make up for lack of talent.
