aren't coordinators under contract for a specific time or anything, or can they just leave whenever they want?
i hope to god we can keep him for at least another year or two,
the guy draws up some great gameplans and gets the absolute most out of his talent on the field,
he puts his players in the best position to succeed and understands offenses
plus he makes the best in game and half time adjustments i have ever seen,

if i was michael bidwill i would be trying to lock him up for a while if thats possible

Teams cannot block asst coaches from interviewing for head coaching positions, and Bowles is sure to get some interest in the off-season. They can block it if another team wanted to steal him (or even one of his assistants) away to be their DC (even with a raise).

Yes and losing him would suck, but this team and organization is put together so well from top to bottom that losing a coordinator would not be as big of a hit in years past IMO.

We are in a lot of danger of losing him but the good thing is that the NFL today is so offense-oreinted that many teams will only want an offensive head coach and won't even consider Bowles for the job. Just have to hope for the best.

He seems really low key in demeanor, can't picture him as a head coach.

It would suck to lose him particularly only a season after losing Horton. :( It'd be too much turnover at such a keying coaching position. :(

It's lot better when other teams want our coaches rather than no one wanting any of them because our team is playing lousy.

Let's remember, he was getting ripped in Philly last season. I don't think there will be a huge rush for him to be head coach.

Hopefully he realizes what a good thing we have going here and he wants to stay. Not every coordinator wants to be a head coach.

we will not lose him...some of you guys are still suffering from the Horton thing and I do not see Ray Ray carrying a head coach's clipboard. It is completely different circumstance and BA is not going to get fired with Bowles as possibly being promised a head coaching position with us to bring up any bad blood. Simmer down guys lol

Wasn't this same question asked about Ray Horton? Doubt that Bowles would get a HC job YET, but when he does or if he does, we'll need to bring another DC. Life goes on.

I was hoping there wouldn't be a lot of head coaching vacancies this year, but it looks like Detroit, Washington, Minnesota, Oakland and possibly TN and Dallas will be open in addition to Houston. Seven openings possibly.

That is important to remember. There was lots of criticism with Arians making him DC. I think he will get interviews because of the Rooney Rule but not sure if he will get any offers this year. May need several years as DC before someone give him the HC position.

He'll get Rooney Rule interviews, but he's ours for another year or two.

Not concerned.

I don't know. The difference between a 6 figure coordinator salary and a 7 figure HC salary is huge.

For some reason I don't think we're in danger this year. Who knows obviously.

Great players make coaches look better. He's just been fast at finding his niche and looks like a cool customer on the sidelines.

I'd think more like after 2014 or 2015 if this continues. But you never know.

I think what hurts him is that Arizona had a good defense last year as well. It's not like he took a defense that was really bad and made them better, he will be viewed as taking a good defense and maintaining it. I think he will need to show he can do it for more than one year before he gets a HC position.
