I'd have to say yes. Our offensive line is the slowest by a country mile. Our quarterbacks are slow and lack athleticism (Leinart moves a little bit). Our tightends are big and have nice hands but not a one of them can get behind a defense. Our runningbacks are somewhat skillfull, but not a one of them can outrun defensive backs.

Our defensive line is small and slow. Our linebackers are athletic (anyone else hate that word?) but outside of Dansby, not a one can cover anybody on passing routes. Our safeties are slow (yes even Wilson) and our corners are very, very slow.

And yes even our saviors (Larry and Quan) have absolutely zero breakaway speed. Great talents, but when has Larry Fitzgerald ever just ran by a guy and taken one to the house for a touchdown. Great catch yesterday versus Hall, but we all knew he would run step for step with Fitz, Fitz would go up catch the ball and be brought down. For once I would love to see one of our recievers actually beat a guy deep and score. As for Quan, go back to the St. Louis game and watch our franchise player get caught from behind by a defensive tackle on his 30 yard catch.

I hate to say this, but I would take Steve Smith over either Boldin or Fitz any day of the week. ESPN said it best yesterday about Smith: He is a finisher, a difference maker, a guy teams fear. Boldin and Fitz are great talents, but they are not in my opinion finishers, gamebreakers like Smith.

Sorry to vent. I really hate Sundays in the fall. I feel bad saying this, but I really do.

Here we go again. I wouldnt trade our set of WR's for anyone. The two we have are difference makers. The problem is we dont seem to have a QB that can get them the ball with any regularity or hit them in stride on deep balls. The pass by Warner to Fitz yesterday was short and Fitz had to slow down and come back and jump for it. He was easily two full stride lengths ahead of Hall when he threw it. Im not saying hes faster than Hall. But route running can create separation and we have two of the best route runners and two of the most physically imposing WR's in the game. Warner just tends to flutter and underthrow his deep balls.

Boldin can break open a game with the best of them. If you dont believe that try watching this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k0IGeWL4bjo

We dotn need track stars especially ones with annual hamstring problems like Smith(only had one healthy season in NFL). What we need is a decent OL and a decent damn QB AGAIN!

I do not know if we are the slowest, but we sure don't play with any sense of urgency. When I watch the Denver line or the Atlanta line I see guys getting after it. We were not prepared to play at all yeterday. Our first two series were a joke on offense. They were playing at a much higer level and I know it was a home game, but we have players playing for a paycheck. I was physically sickened by the whole game.

No.

Paul Calvisi observed that our defensive guys were (correctly or incorrectly) bragging on the sidelines that "they were faster" than the Atlanta offense.

Leinart's got some quicks. Edge has plenty of speed - it's just that his patience waiting for holes to open makes him seem slow and the plays slow to develop. While you can make the case that none of our 4 wideouts are true blazers, they're all faster than the average receiver.

I'm not sure what the problem is with our pass and run blockers - I'm not sure it's lack of speed. I do detect "lack of explosion and sustained "push" by our O-linemen. (Incidently - who was responsible for the Ole whiff on Leinart's 1st sack. Was it Wells or Step)?

It really isn't even Warner at this point but he takes the lion share of the blame for this because he is the QB. Flat out it is the OL...period. If the OL can block, the Cards can run the ball. If the Cards can block, Warner can be comfortable throwing the ball and things would be better there. DB's right now are pressing up on the WR's not allowing them any separation knowing they only have to cover the WR for a couple seconds before the rush either creates a sack or flushes the QB out limiting his options a bit.

If the Cards can run the ball, it creates a bit more time for the QB as the DL and LB's have to play both but D's have no respect for the Cards run game, they have no respect for the pass game and ALL of it is the lack of blocking up front.

Warner doesn't help but I think it is a bit of wild flailing to say that, if the OL was right and even adequate, Warner wouldn't be better than he has been.

I think at one time Martay Jenkins, Bryon Gilmore and Jason McAddley were three of our six or so receivers. They are all very fast - I think all three had track backgrounds...they were also not very good.

On the other hand...I understand your point... I do not think speed is a problem for our cornerbacks..they have other issues.. but it may be for the safeties.

On Fitz's long catch yesterday he actually did run right by Hall, just the ball was serverely underthrown.

Wells, he left a free runner that he half heartedly tried to block belatedly.

our interior OL is as fast as it gets in the NFL in going backwards.

I'm so tired of hearing how slow Q and Fitz are. They're two of the best wide outs in the league. Some of you just aren't happy with anything. Get a life.

It is true that speed makes up for alot of mistakes. I do think this team needs alot more speed on it as well as alot of other things.

I would say the #1 area we need an upgrade at speed is our safties. Next special team returners. Then would be our backup WR's.

I don't think WR speed is an issue with this team. We have the best WR corps in the league. Enough said about that. However our defensive back field is in much need of speed I agree. Griffith is a snail, and we don't have one corner with anything but average wheels. In my opinion moving Rolle to replace Griffith @ saftey is a must. However our corners are so thin we can't make that change this year. Hopefully we address this issue in the off-season and who ever is running the team @ that time has brains enough to see the obvious.
