Are we waiting on Kobe? What's taking so long on player #2?

The Suns have said all along that they would like to add at least 2 veteran free agents to the team this off season. They bolted out of the gates and snared Nash. If they aren't waiting for Kobe, then why not grab your second player, presumably a big man? Why wait until one you want may be off the market? It seems weird the Suns acted like they had a big plan to start with, and now it seems very quiet in Sunsville!

Relax, Nash was one of the bigger names. Now we can wait to see how much those BIG's are gunna cost depending on other team interest.

For one thing, the Suns don't know how much money they have left now. If they're chasing another big FA, it's kind of important to know how much money they can offer.

Who knows, maybe they're waiting for someone to fall through the cracks, or they might go into the season with the rest of their cap room intact and look for lopsided trade opportunities.

Or maybe they're just holding the rest of their cards until July 14. It's not like they can play any of them yet, so why show them prematurely?

I think the Bigs are going to wait for all their bidders before deciding. No one is going to make a killer offer at this point unless it is for K-Mart. Most discussions related to Dampier suggest he will be part of a sign and trade deal rather than a straight FA and those things take time.

I hate going for Bigs.. unless you aren't in a 'need' position. They are the easiest position to get burned and overpay. You're paying for size first, talent second. If you look over the years, it has always been that way.

Bowie instead of Jordan, Olokowandi, Austin, Ameche, Koncak, Benoit Benjamin, Mark Jackson, Vin Baker.. and on and on.

Hope we get lucky. Hope we don't make a mistake. But we DO need someone to block shots.. so cross your fingers!
