This forum has been dead. I know part of it is there really isn't any Suns news. However, I am NOT looking forward to this offseason. First, this draft is one of the weakest I have seen, in my opinion. There is noone in the draft that will really help us. Free agency sucks. Everyone is loading up, or actually shedding cap space, to try for Kobe Bryant. After that, who cares? If we don't get Kobe, the rest of the free agents are role players. Trade for TMac? I guess that would be exciting, but then who do we give up. I guess we can look forward to see if we exercise our rights to Vujanic, and see if he's actually a good guard. We could/should win the Rocky Mountain Summer League! Woo-hoo! So far this off season is just uninspiring!! :hulk:

I just can't watch any of the playoffs with out the Suns. I just watch little bits and hope the Lakers gets kicked out.

You're kidding, right?

This might turn out to be the most important offseason in our team's history. Whether it's the most exciting or not, that means a lot. The only bad thing is having to wait 2 months before anything happens.

Not trying to be a spoil sport, but what if we DON'T get Kobe or TMac? Then what if Vujanic is HIGHLY overrated? This offseason still that exciting? Will you be thrilled to see Dampier coming to town? Camby excite you? How about a top point guard? The best two, arguably, Kidd and Marbury, done that, been there. Nash, also been there, done that. We get number 7 in the draft as projected. Ho hum. I can see it being important in that we need to teach Amare and others some real defense. Cabarkapra gets his preinjury confidence back. Marion gets his preweightlifting shot back. But that's all stuff that comes in practices we don't get to see. Lampe needs a good offseason. Suddenly the Rocky Mountain ***** becomes the off season highlight. Great. They showed the Suns on tv, what, two of those games? I just can't get too worked up about this offseason as I have in years past. I don't know why.

IMO I would be excited with the team that we have returning. Getting Kobe or TMac will but more butts in the seats but are they real fans or just fans becouse it is cool?? I think this teams needs a vet PG that can play and control the game better and a low post Defender to block some shots (PS this has been a need since the Suns were created) I like the team wouldn't mind not seeing big changes in personel.

So wait, you got more worked up in previous off season's when there was no chance of anything happening? A standard mid round draft pick? A marquee signing like Scott Williams.

An off season is exciting because of the POSSIBILTY of changes. The value of an offseason is based on what actually happens.

With the multiple scenarios possible this summer with the expansion and regular draft, plus FA money, this is the most exciting summer in a long time. We cant judge how good it will be, but it is much more exciting than most.

No, I am excited about the offseason. There just isn't much to talk about with the Suns for the next month or so. :(

I think this will be a very interesting off season. Exciting? To a draftnic, it's heaven.

Seriously, this off season will be interesting because the Suns have more "options" than usual. A #7 draft pick is worth more than a #17 even in an off year. The Suns cap space makes certain kinds of trades feasible and the Suns will be able to at least talk to free agents - something they didn't do much last summer.

If anything, we should expect to be surprised. Remember last summer when the Spurs pick up Turkoglu in exchange for cap space on the Brad Miller deal. From all the reports I've read, this deal just fell into their laps - and Turkoglu has been a big part of their success.

In a few weeks after the declaration deadline for the draft, I expect we will start seeing more serious discussion of prospects and not just articles about whether or not someone no one has heard of will declare.
