then shouldn't he sit for a few weeks until his mechanics are good? im tired of this team throwing games away. from what we've seen from warner in preseason and last game, he gives the cards the best chance to win at this time until matt gets his act together.

So ridiculous. Its like Mao said in the other thread. We all of a sudden forgot the turonver machine of the last few years. On a long enough timeline Warner will cripple us with TO's. Matt for all his issues right now has a better ability to hold onto the ball then the vet. Thats just a fact.

Warner played well last week because he brings a different dynamic to the team with his release and the Ravens were not ready for him to come out and run the two minute drill.

I would feel much better if Matt never struggled and was throwing 4TDs a game every game. But i made this point at the beginning of the season. In his young career (and in almost every instance) Matt just plays better at home then on the road. Bar none. And that will change in time. He just needs to grow in that respect.

All this pool partying and 2 minute offense stuff is being magnified because of his poor play last week. Just chill everybody. One half of football (on the road against one of the best defenses OF THE LAST DECADE) does not a quarterback make.

A reality check for Leinart seems like a good thing to me. Guy seems to spend most of his life planning for the next party.

Do you see the other Phoenix area pro athletes in pool parties all year long?

How can you honestly sit there and say 1 half of football? He has stunk for about 2 fullgames worth.

We've got a second year QB (who also happens to be a 2-time NCAA champion, a Heisman winner and a top-10 draft pick) that's struggling a little in a new offense...so what do the fans do? Get all over his butt for hanging out at a pool the night before and accusing him of not knowing the playbook or putting in the work?

Bad form, gentlemen. Bad form.

Leinart is going to be a damned good QB. But you need to know there will be bumps in the road to getting there. Most players don't get to take the Peyton Manning Super-Highway to success.

JMHO

Bad form is to simply ignore bad play on the part of a supposed football genius, while rumors continue to surface about his off the field diversions...
This is not a Peyton Manning situation, where Manning was essentially a choir boy compared to Leinart (based purely on speculation at this point of course). Manning is known for his intense dicipline and focus whereas Matty seems to not love football all that much on days of the week that do include Sunday...

Two things:

1. A two minute offense and a no huddle offense are not the same thing! The two minute is a hurry-up style during which plays are called in from the sideline. During the no huddle the QB is calling the play at (or near) the line of scrimmage. Leinart does and will continue to run the two minute offense. This was specifically pointed out in Ken Whisenhunt's press conference yesterday.

2. Booing Leinart, or the team that you claim to support illustrates the ignorance of the person doing so. For the first time since the Cardinals arrived in Arizona, we have a chance to give the team the advantage of having the crowd solidly supporting the team. Booing this week will serve to destroy what began during the Seattle game, two weeks ago. Whether "you like it or not", whether you agree or not with the fact, crowd support or lack thereof does impact the desire and performance of the players on the field. That impact can be positive or negative. Booing never has a positive impact. (Except, of course, in the case of booing the officials. ;) )

As happened in previous seasons, I hope to never again sit in the Cardinals home stadium and watch opposing players encourage the crowd as though it were their home, not the Cardinals.

He's actually really been BAD for 2 games, and fairly bad in 1 game...

The preseason DOES COUNT when it comes to learning an offense and executing it... so you can add a few more concerns to the mix, since the preseason games were "vanilla" offensive game plans...and ML compared to KW in those games looked the same... KW drove the team downfield and ML looked overwhelmed and under-prepared... I am not condemning ML to loser status, just not yet ready for a complicated NFL offense based on timing and precision...

Absolutely disagree with #2. Maybe you shouldn't boo, but it doesn't illustrate ignorance in the least. Booing as a fan is one of the best ways that you can voice your displeasure with the team.

Maybe it is not the classy thing to do, but it is NO WAY construes ignorance. Completely disagree with you.

I don't boo at games at all, but I understand why fans do. That does not make them ignorant.

I fully plan on being disgusted by our home crowd this weekend though. I can feel it coming. I think most will keep their heads on but I guarantee there will be boos for Matt during introductions if the offense is introduced.

when Matt wins back to back MVPs and continually leads his team to the playoffs and homefield advantage in at least one round, he can do whatever he wants. Until then, learn your playbook and accomplish something on the field. Business before pleasure. Once you've got the business part down, mix it up however you like.

Steve Nash, LOL. I think those pics are from a team hotel in the Baltimore area. Typical Canadian. I wish I was better at sports.

I completely agree. But let's not act like athletes don't party. They do. This is not a Matt Leinart cornered market like is being alluded to.

I also wonder when Matt is winning how many people will drop the Hollyweird stuff. I am positive it will be a lot less than should be. That's the internet age for you though. Babe Ruth and Joe Namath would have been villified on the Internets....

Right on, Pariah!

I've concluded that some fans here are totally talking out of the wrong hole about Leinart. Based on scant evidence, they've leapt to pretty rough conclusions. Even if they ARE right, they have absolutely no way of knowing it.

But, that's part of the internet. But, I don't have to foster it myself.

Amen to that, brother.

completely agree - at least on the offensive side of the ball. Clancy's still iffy - his defenses has yet to make the stop at the very end of the game (i put game 2 on the fans, Seattle's botchery and KOC most of all). This will be a big test to see what Clancy's made of because Pitt's offense has been steamrolling people so far this year.

But yeah - an actual offensive line, pretty inventive playcalling has been pretty damn impressive. I do believe this guy will actually get us somewhere at some point. He looks like a coach and talks like a coach and if you walk like a coach and talk like a coach... well, you know the rest.

BNot even Peyton Manning got to ride that highway! How many years before he won a playoff game???

I think it was 4 or 5 because the Colts kept losing in the first round. However in his second season Manning threw for 4,135 yards 26TDs 15INTs and the Colts were 13-3 after being 3-13 the year before.

Wouldn't we love to have that kind of season.

I agree this is a little overblown.....no, I take that back.

The fact our QB seems to have digressed after a year is frustrating, and confusing.

Our passing attack has to get better. If our passing game was half as good as it was last year and we are 3-0.

I do agree to give this situation some time, but I think the fact that this is the talk of the town right now is justifyable. Furthermore, I can't blame anyone for bashing Matt's play which has been horrible.

The Warner running the two minute offense is also quite confusing. I like it since it has been successfull but it is against the norm.
