Back in March, St. Louis Rams coach Jeff Fisher used the "they've gotta play us, too" line when asked about moves Seattle and San Francisco made this offseason. Now, Arizona Cardinals coach Bruce Arians is questioning conventional wisdom about the division.

"I don't see the dominance that everybody else talks about," Arians told the club's website. "One of those teams may be. It still has to be played on Sunday."

Arians, formerly of the Indianapolis Colts and Pittsburgh Steelers, is new to the division. His teams have posted a 100-44 record and won two Super Bowls over the past nine seasons, never finishing below .500 in any of those years.

Really believe the division as a whole is going to be good and all the NFL pundits that talk about the NFC West being the toughest division in football now are right on point.

impressive neverless.

If we could have that record over 9 seasons I would be on cloud nine.

Lots of failed head coaches are hired because they have assistant coached on successful franchises. :)

To be fair, he has never been below .500 as an NFL head coach, has a career .750 winning percentage and has won Coach of the Year in every season he was a head coach. Stats don't lie right? ;)

If we can come together as a team like it appears we will, IMO we ghave as much a chance as any team in our division. I can't wait till our starting O-line is spelled out. Who is the RB most likely Mendenhall if he stays healthy. WE also have the two rookies.

Who is going to start across from PP, Which safety's will win the day? Who will be our 4th wide out? Still questions but we appear to have good players to fill those spots. I think this weeks game will answer some of these quetions.

I like the Cards chances.

SF is one Harbaugh meltdown from tuning him out, St.Louis is upcoming but still has alot to prove, and with Pete Carroll in charge, at some point, Seattle will likely be placed on probation.

LOL...SF is already about to tune out the coach who took them from garbage to the NFC Title Game/Super Bowl in back to back years if he melts down one more time? That's laughable. All Harbaugh does is meltdown and apparently, his team loves it judging from the difference in their play with and without him.

I agree. If anything will set them back it is the reckless abandoned that Kaepernick plays with since they really do not have a decent backup for him.

yup.

at worst, I expect them to be 11-5 this year.

I think we'll be much improved though. I see our division being as good or better then any in the league this year.

How are things working out for another blowhard that took his team to back to conference champiomships, Rex Ryan in NY?

Players get tired of a coaches schtick pretty quickly these days.

I really don't think there's much comparison between the two. Ryan rode a lucky streak with 9-7 team with a great defense and no QB to a blowout loss in the AFC title game and then got blown out again in the AFC Title game the next year. that team was a house of cards.

Harbaugh's been uber successful every where he's gone, has actually WON an NFC Title and been to a Super Bowl...and apparently knows how to judge both defensive and offensive talent.

but the proof will be in the pudding.

For Arians that pudding will be tapioca. #IbethelovestowatchMatlock!

I don't think it is the meltdowns that have him in danger of losing the team as much as it is the ******* motions. :D

every successful head coach in the league was an assistant somewhere, at some time.

I seem to recall your boy Billicheat being run out of...Hmmm,...was it Cleveland?? for being terrible as a head coach.....

I guess they just gotta play on sunday and see what happens.

True words , from both you and Mulli , I can't think of any HC that did not first hold some other coach position .

Should we really be happy our new head coach says we have a shot to win the division? How does he get hired if he says he thinks we can compete in a year or two? Come on guys.

Having confidence in your team & players is great, but IMO BA just gave all 3 teams bulletin board material.

I know most don't think it's a big deal, but IMO don't start barking like the big dog on the street when the dog catcher is waiting right around the corner with mace & a net to put you away in the cage. :D I guess I'm old school...never talked trash or showed up an opponent, because IMO most of the time it backfires!!! We shall shortly see.

The Ryan family has always been more about mouth than actual winning. :D

Btw Rex's talent on that team & the Niners are night & day & always have been...the Niners aren't going anywhere anytime soon IMO.

The Cardinals had plenty of time to take advantage of a weak division. And they did...twice.
