Also had a worse RPI and overall SOS than USC by a pretty wide margin. They were great wins, but using two games as the rationale for getting in over another team is silly. There were 30+ other games played
USC had a weak schedule.

Tournament teams they beat: New Mexico St. that's it

ASU also beat San Diego St, Kansas St, UCLA and USC

NO CONTEST between ASU and USC.

Tough to say, they also beat USC head to head, but just barely. In the same conference over a full pac 12 season they finished well behind USC.

That’s nuts. The second place team in both the regular season conference and tournament don’t make it but the 9th place regular season team that didn’t win a conference tournament game made it.

I wonder how much Kentucky winning the SEC tournament helped UCLA?

They look at the entire season. USC had a crappy OOC, and lost to the only good teams they played.

Probably did.

Yeah, Arizona dropped one spot this week per the committee from 15 to 16.

Between this and OK State, Louisville, and USC getting left out I guess you could say the NCAA handed out their penalties early.
Maybe this is the ncaa’s way of trying to ensure they don’t have to vacate a championship later on...

Oregon beat six teams, ASU twice, that are in the tournament, yet got no consideration.

ASU got ransacked in conference play and lost a good amount of them at home. Being #9 in one of the weakest conferences in the nation is a demerit in and of itself.

Oregon played a very soft non-Conference schedule. Best win was against Fresno. Only beat two teams with winning record. Lost to three non-tourney teams

Non-conference scheduling matters. When you load up on teams from the worst to conferences in division one in lose to the only P59 conference games you play you're not gonna get into the tournament

ASU's non-conference SOS was 104. USC's was 58. Plus, the simple eye test will tell you that USC is the better team.

ASU literally got rewarded for two games. That's like saying that if the Suns win four games combined against the Rockets, Warriors, Cavs, and the Raptors, that it deserves to get into the playoffs irrespective of the rest of the season.

Another screw job was Gonzaga getting a higher overall seed and being slotted in the West region over Arizona. Arizona has a better RPI, SOS (non-conference and overall), and 75% of Gonzaga's conference has an RPI higher than 190.

There are a number of other head scratchers. The metrics and consistent goal poast movements are disappointing to say the least

ASU has the weirdest profile. Great wins against #1 seeds and multiple tourney teams. But then terrible conference play in a down year for the conference.

The committee really botched this one. USC or Oklahoma St wasn’t even their last team out according to the rep the interviewed. It was Notre Dame...

I still say they won't admit it but I think the NCAA downgraded teams that were in the FBI story because they don't want to have to vacate another NC(louisville) and they don't want a bunch of teams getting in that later on get nailed.

So USC, OSU, Louisville don't get in, Arizona gets seeded lower than the probably should have etc. I think they picked the teams they knew, obviously you could say how come Duke didn't get that treatment since virtually everyone expects at some point the EYBL stuff will come out and implicate Bagley and others at Duke, same with UK etc but my guess is the NCAA only did it to teams they knew had been implicated.

OU over OSU is the one that bugs me the most, OSU finished ahead of them in the same conference, beat them 2 of 3, including a few days ago in the conf tourney. OU lost 11 of their last 15 games or something like that. They absolutely don't deserve that bid but they have a high profile freshman and OSU was implicated in the FBI story.

No question. Aside from Auburn and Alabama, the NCAA stuck it to the FBI teams. Arizona being the last four seed? Dropping a spot from the initial bracket? Come on, NCAA.

On the bright side. Who are the refs {NCAA} pulling for in the AZ vs Kentucky game? Go Wildcats.

can't believe i'm doing this after declaring the season a total bust, but with the big injury for UVA, all the Cats have to do is survive a super tough second round game to get to the Final Four.

And if I'm going to put them in there, I might as well have them get to the title game.

This is stupid. I am stupid.

i was doing my brackets, and that UA/UVa game is looking far better now for the Wildcats.

Down 14 to Buffalo...

Scandal aside, Miller is really losing any faith I have in him as a Xs and Os coach. You used to be at least able to bet on competent defense, these guys are not playing any, and on offense they're maddeningly selfish.

He's also down to his last time out with 9 minutes left.

Hey, au fans. print all your predicitions for this season. Rool them up as skinny as possible, turn them sideways, and stick them where the sun never shines. Could not be more satisfying end to a season for a dirty, lying, cheating program.

Jesus that’s not necessary. Big guy kicking a fan base when they’re at their lowest. Lame.

I’m not even going to pretend I’ve watched many games this year. But I’ve watched enough to know this team was garbage from the get go.

I do find it funny though that asu fans have the nerve to come here are talk after last night.

I like both teams but let’s be real. ASU is hot garbage rolled up in a 3 day old sandwich served up on tampon paper plate at A seedy bar on skid row.
