Who knows if that is accurate, the rumor earlier in the morning was that he was close to signing with the Lions, so the guy may just be working off that information.

Included in that rumor was that Foxworth was close to signing with BAL which he actually did. I hope McFadden picks us, why would he want to go to a team that did not win a game last year and have no real talent on defense, unless they pick Curry with the #1 pick.

He is familiar with our coaching staff and knows how close we came to winning it all, we will give him a good deal, win-win for him. Plus who would rather live in DET rather than ARZ, come on! Come on down Bryant.

Considering what Somers just blogged I have no doubt McFadden is on our list of FA to come to town.

"There are reports that Steelers corner Bryant McFadden will arrive in town Sunday night for a Monday visit. I don't have confirmation of that but I wouldn't doubt it. McFadden is represented by Drew Rosenhaus, but I don't think that will impede any deal, even though Rosenhaus represents Anquan Boldin and Edgerrin James. A second round pick in 05, McFadden hasn't been a regular starter with the Steelers until this year. The price tag should be interesting. Falcons corner Domonique Foxworth just signed a four-year, $28 million deal with the Ravens, with $16.5 guaranteed."

All I know is we need a solid CB to compete with Hood, and improve our depth. Very Important IMO.

I am not worried about bringing in McFadden. I more worried about the Cardinals organzation up holding thier word to Boldin & get a deal done.

IMO, a good secondary is a result of having a good pass rush. Without pass rushers, they are (almost) nothing so I wouldn't overpay for them (unless they are in the Deion Sanders category).

If he is worth that you might as well back up the brinks truck for ADub.

Back when Wilson got his deal in 2005 comparativaly the deals are similar when you compare the difference in time and difference in CBA's.

Here is the deal: despite what some people may think, we already have a defense full of very good pass rushers. We don't NEED to overpay a LB to add to that. We have guys who rushed extremely well in the playoffs, and we have young guys waiting in the wings to show what they can do.

We NEED to fix our secondary and the way that pass defense is called. Adding McFadden would be the first step towards doing that.

I feel like if we lock him up, we can make a play for a RB in the draft, then worry about resigning/extending everyone and filling in at depth with the rest of the draft and through lesser signings.

McFadden has mad some great plays at key times, and DRC will be forcing the ball his direction a lot, so he would have the opportunity to step his game up big time.

How would you guys rate McFadden out of 10, with 10 being the highest.

Keep in mind that McFadden has been playing with a defense that is very much in synch with each other and in a system that he's used to. In a different system, he may or may not be as good. Happens all the time.

I hope we get him! If not him I still stand by how I feel about targeting R.W. McQuarters! :D

No we dont...

Where are they? Did they just take last yr off? When will they decide to show these "very good" skills?

We are goining to run the PIT defense this year. If we can draft a couple of pass rushers in the draft and keep our defensive core (Dockett, Dansby, Wilson), McFadden won't have to do more, although he will have to face the fact that with DRC on the other side QB's will be more inclined to throw his way. Whis & Grimm know of him as they saw him in practice everyday and are obviously interested.

We won't have to use an early round pick on a CB, instead use them to get a pass rusher, C & RB. What I really like about McFadden is that he has played in big games and has that big game experience that guys that are available don't which makes him more valuable. Please no one chime in with McAllister or Springs because those guys are just ancient, McFadden is the best CB on the market right now.

McFadden is considered by almost all the football analyst's as the number one CB available in free agency. Getting him would be a big deal for the Cards.

Yup. If you read any of the Pitt sites or newspaper discussing their free agents.. every one of their FAs basically gets the "good riddance" except McFadden.. Everyone says that he's gonna be a good one going forward and that it sucks that he's gonna be leaving, but they can't shell out the 6-8 million to keep him..

As stated above, our seconday would be set with this move.. and we can focus the draft on getting a couple pass rushers at OLB and/or DLine...

Our experiences with big dollar free agents is abysmal so I'm saying nothing.

Yes we do. Dockett is one of the top pass rushing tackles in the league.

I believe I saw where he is in the top 5-6 Dtackles in sacks over the last three years.

NFLN was doing the Haynesworth story and had a sack blog showing how Haynesworth was the #1 D Tackle when it comes to sacks. Guess who was listed #2? DD..........
