Alright let’s take a moment to look at Tune time without the doom and gloom:

1. I like mike Wilson and have hope for his future- that said, people here acting like mike Wilson not playing is like when Jefferson went down for the Vikings. It may be nice for tune to be throwing to a receiver that he has been throwing to for weeks in practice and developed some chemistry

2. Demarcado out— another one that I think makes very little impact on tunes play. This is not McCaffrey, this isn’t even close to Connor, so we should stop pretending it is.

3. We’ve seen plenty of qb draft bust, and we’ve seen some hits. Purdy lit it up - and I don’t remember hearing about the niners clamoring to start purdy because they thought he was the hottest thing on earth in his 2022 preseason performance. Tune has now had 3 months to work with the new offense/playbook. His college record was pretty solid. Don’t mistake that I think tune is the next Tom Brady, I just don’t get the massive amount of hate before the kid throws a single pass. We just gotta wait and see

Point 3 I don't think it's hate as much as it's the realization that it's pretty unlikely the guy we saw in the preseason has improved that much in practice that he'll be ready to play well against Cleveland.

Back in the preseason there were 2-3 of those film analysis things done on Tune's preseason performance from NFL analysts, ex NFL QB types. They all said the same thing, he has good size and a good arm but he's got lots of issues, he locks on receivers, he holds the ball too long, he is late to get the ball out when someone is open etc.

Hopefully he's gotten better and learned but the guy played 47 college games and threw almost 1500 passes in college. HIs last 2 years were great but I can't be the only one who was a bit surprised at how raw he looked in the preseason considering how much he played in college? He threw over 900 more passes in college than Kyler did.

The knock on him pre draft was his ability to "process", it's why he was often late on throws, takes him longer to make the read and get the ball out. Given how much he played in college, 5 years 3 as a starter, that's why he was not drafted higher the assumption is if after all that experience he's still like that, he's probably not going to process fast enough to play well in the NFL.

I think he has a chance to be a decent backup and he seems to be a likable guy.

I just fully expect him to be in over his head tomorrow based on what I saw in the preseason.

Cards need to continue to do what it takes to secure the #1 draft pick. So far, so good. There is absolutely no need to bring Kyler back this season.

I'm not saying he can't improve but he's unlikely to play well against a very good pass rush, in his first NFL start. It's not hating on him to say that it's just the likely reality. If he were much improved, he would have probably gotten into a game or two already given how much Dobbs struggled in the 2nd half of games.

These kind of issues can sometimes be corrected with reps at NFL game speed

It was noted in the analysis Tune wasn’t set therefore wasn’t able to deliver a pass on time. I concur it was mentioned several times he didn’t see the open receiver of the options he had on the given play.

Keep in mind the play calls were vanilla…
