No. It was a solid signing of a former Defensive Player of the Year and future Hall of Famer who had just played 16 games and 1000 snaps. Smith ain't no JJ, in fact, he's not a CJ.
It was clearly the signing of an aged and oft-injured player that didn't hold up health-wise. He's a beast, but that signing hurt us more than helped us thus far.

Oh, that's clear. You do your best to bait posters and refuse to actually defend your arguments. Rather transparent. I at least do my best to comment on the team as I see it ;)

I make my case as best I can and refuse to rather transparently make **** up about what other posters' may think or feel.

But 1/2 season last year and another year older. Hey , YOU we’re the one who says you prefer not to gamble on 14m a year players. He has not yet “ earned” his salary as a Cardinal. Can’t contribute on the bench… oh wait… his leadership is probably worth 1/2 of his cap hit.
You should have stopped after “ former”.

I get it. Your own little world. You refuse to answer simple questions at times, often dragging that bait through the message board waters.

You're right. I don't pay much attention to often sophomoric and not very cleverly tilted questions.

We got 7 games by jj Watt
As someone mentioned the first thng u look in a player is availability
Jj Watt is one of the best defensive lineman ever, but he is 33 with injury issues, at today the 28 mil for him can't be called a good investment
Hopefully he can play a full season

Could also be that Chase had 116 carries and 43 receptions for 903 scrimmage yards.
Early in the year, Conner was mostly getting goal line carries. That changed when Chase got dinged up.

I wanted the Cardinals to resigned Conner but $7 million was a bit rich. Granted, Chase signed for $6 million, so a million more for a player who is substantially better around the goal line isn't crazy.

Personally, I'll be happier if the Cardinals could score a solid pass rusher and another WR. They have some roster options for both, but I think there is some need.

The Cardinals are just hesitant to give up any of their upcoming flexibility. They have TONS of cap room coming up. That means they can basically resign all of their best young players AND add some talent.

Comparing JJ Watt and Za'Darius Smith is like comparing a 2 starred Michelin restaurant and Burger King. Watt is a future hall of famer. Smith is a pretty good edge with 2 seasons out of 7 over 10 sacks.
Watt at his peak is a top 3 DL of all time.

Three best ever? Watt, Donald, and White in no order.

And while Kyler will cost significant more next year he's still going to be costing a lot less than practically every top tier QB outside Herbert and Burrow.

He had 26 receiving yards through the first 8 games and 350 in the following 7.

If they had figured out Conner has great hands (which he does) earlier it would have been a different story.

UH, it won't be, even close. Probably 8-9 or more easily. Guessing 10.
You dont understand odds makers. There is no way the over/under for the cards will be 10. It will probably be 8 1/2...and that means they think the Cards will win 8 games. It could very well be lower.

Currently, I would take the over at 6, and the under at 9 1/2.

I don't know of many successful investment strategies that say you benefit most when buying high. We bought Watt at the top of his market and the return we got was not. The argument can be made that this is Keim's biggest issue in FA.

Before you use this to champion Keim's approach, he is also bottom of the NFL in drafting so that approach isn't a good one for him either.
