And failed to do anything of significance. If we were talking a mid to late round pick, absolutely! Maybe there's some potential to develop so you ignore only the most important stat there is for an edge rusher. A kid who could only muster 4.5 sacks in a college football season is not my idea of a 1st-round edge talent. Not the pick I'd like for us.Guess nobody should be drafted from the Big 10 then. All those Ohio state WR's going top 20 were up against insurance salesman.
Wisconsin, Iowa, Ohio, Notre Dame all churn our quality NFL linemen and he played them all last season.
Also, you're being super disingenuous with this post and you very well know it. Just to be clear, the argument in this post is that the talent level of offensive linemen in the Big 10 is equivalent to the talent level of offensive linemen in the NFL. LOLGuess nobody should be drafted from the Big 10 then. All those Ohio state WR's going top 20 were up against insurance salesman.

Yes, the B1G is indeed vastly inferior talent when compared to the NFL. He'll be going against the best of the best in the world on Sundays, not some schmoe who will be selling insurance in 3 months.
If he plays 16 games, yesI doubt Karlaftis drops to us. I do think Clowney would be a great fit
Every draft is different as to what the talent available is. 4.5 sacks is definitely a suspicious number for a pass rush specialist, but Chandler Jones only had 4.5 sacks his last season at Syracuse before being drafted 21st overall. And failed to do anything of significance. You're arguing the exception, not the rule, with Chandler Jones. I'm going to disagree with you on what the argument is and your subsequent application of it. But, really, there is no need to argue. I'm merely stating I don't want us to draft Karlaftis with our pick. The nice part of it is that he'll likely be gone already, leaving Keim no temptation to draft him. So, I'll leave it with "I don't want to draft Karlaftis" and move on.Not, that's not the argument. The argument is that Karlaftis played many schools with quality O linemen, so what division Purdue is in has no bearing on this discussion. The same way it doesn't for Garrett Wilson or Chris Olave. It was a silly thing to bring up.
And using his sack production this year to say "No thanks" when Chandler Jones, the NFL sack leader since 2014 had 4.5 sacks in his final year seems short sighted, especially when Karlaftis had 7.5 as a freshman. He has no help on that line. Rushers from bigger schools like Hutchinson have far more talent assisting him. Who else does Purdue have that's even draft worthy?
The next best player on that line was DaMarcus Mitchell who won't be drafted. Everyone else is a future insurance salesman.
Kwity Pare at #21 last year never had more than 6.5 sacks in a season. Payton Turner at #28 had 5 his senior year and never more. Chaisson at #20 had 6.5 as a senior and never more. Rashan Gary at #12 had 3.5 as a senior and never more than 5.5.
And there are loads of guys that racked up double digit sacks in college that didn't do squat in the NFL.

There’s our 2nd round pick!Cardinals bring in RB Pierre Strong for official visit
Strong, who has sub-4.4 speed, led the FCS with nearly 1,700 rushing yards in 2021 for South Dakota State.sports.yahoo.com
Only because we have so many holes to fill now lolxc_hide_links_from_guests_guests_error_hide_media
But will he be there when we pick? I have my doubts.xc_hide_links_from_guests_guests_error_hide_media
I’m back baby!!!! Great post! I’d also add that Josh Allen actually had multiple WRs that are excellent at getting separation. We don’t. We have the best contested catch WR in Nuk, and a hopeful in Rondale. Diggs is phenomenal at getting separation. Gabriel Davis was/is better than any WR not named Nuk on our roster. I’d rather have Dawson Knox than Ertz at this point in their careers. Isaiah McKenzie is flat out speed depth (see what he did to NE last year when given a chance).. Emmanuel Sanders was still an elite route runner last year w great hands. If Jamison Crowder can somehow stay healthy this year that will be a big addition for them as well. You're right. Murray was gawd awful in the playoffs. And so was the rest of the team. Coaches and players. So neither is Kliff in the same stratosphere as Daboll and McDermott.
The recently banned DaHilg's pointed out how well Daboll did. However, your point was that Daboll had a consistent QB. MY POST was agreeing with him as the Bills didn't have a QB lighting up the end of the regular season throwing either.
He had only 2 games over 60% his last 6 regular-season games of the season with his #1 WR. You remove the recently 100 mill Diggs Im sure the #s would have been worse. And yet I don't think that team would fall apart because they are so well run.
Kudos to Allen for lighting it up the playoffs. Wonderful job coaching by Daboll and McDermott to win games and build momentum despite their QB throwing 3 ints and struggling to be accurate with the football.
Bills are in another stratosphere from the Cardinals today. They don't have to play great to win and looked extremely prepared in the playoffs from top to bottom unlike us.
I don't feel like the Cardinals have a gun to their head either right now... more like a ICBM pointed at their crotchxc_hide_links_from_guests_guests_error_hide_media
We have less playoff wins than the JAGS since the merger. That's just stunning. Incredible, generational incompetence.xc_hide_links_from_guests_guests_error_hide_media
