Best part is that our farm system is garbage too, fun times . If Hazen was smart, he would jettison off some contacts/trades and rebuild .

The farm has been a pleasent surprise this year. I wouldn’t be surprised if they make a significant leap in rankings despite taking a hit depth wise back around the deadline.

They lose tonight and I simply think the math doesn't work and it would take a historic meltdown by two teams to open the door. Zach needs to be thinking complete game.

Zach needs to be thinking complete game.
It is probably unreasonable to expect that, even though our 7-8-9 relief corps this season has let us down.

I would hope that Zach works on something that he can control, to a large degree. Not giving up a bunch of runs at the start of the game, which puts pressure on the batting order and, ultimately, the bullpen.

IF IT'S TUESDAY, IT MUST BE . . .

Coors Field. At the end of the 1st of Game 2, it's a 2-2 ball game.

3 doubles for the Rockies. I'm going to guess that dbacks go 3 and out the next 3 innings.

Marte with a 2 out-2 run triple in the 6th and it's 4-2 D-backs. Yessss!

And Marte hit it batting lefty, where he has not been too productive.

I guess he heard Torey say he was going to be playing the left-handed hitting Descalso a lot more at 2B.

Torey is literally out of bullets... If our starter can't pitch a complete game, we're toast... Chafin walks the first batter he faces, and then walks his second batter to now load the bases. Incredible...

And Zeigler comes through. He, and to a much lesser extent Hirano, are literally the ONLY 2 Torey can feel halfway decent about... crazy!

At 4-3 Arizona in the bottom of the 7th, the Rockies load the bases with two outs. Brad Ziegler comes in and gets a groundout to end the inning.

Ziegler is still, as he once was, our best reliever. And he doesn't even have a beard. I think there is a little gray chin hair. :)

I hope Ziegler is pitching in the 8th.

Marte with his second 2-run hit of the game. 6-3 D-backs.

Ziegler and Descalso both grabbing bats and have batting helmets on.

Mathis strikes out with two outs and Ziegler is pitching the bottom of the 8th.

And now Diekman fails to get to first base on the bunt and with two pitches, COL now has runners at first & third and no outs!!
