I'm sorry, I love goldy but he needs to sit out a game. 2 strikeouts this game. This is getting ridiculous.

This is the perfect time to give Goldy a rest (yes, I know the season just started). We have our power hitting 1B, Walker, (who had a solid Spring Training) up from the Minors.

We all know what Goldie has meant to this team. But with Walker waiting and waiting in the wings, maybe not offering Goldy a big contract (and the opportunity to finish his career elsewhere with less expectations as time passes) would be in everyone's best interest.

On his very first AB today (I think it was his first AB of the game) vs. St. Louis, Goldie took a half-hearted checked swing and was called out on strikes. It looked weak. Something is wrong. (I've already posted that it could be eye problems.)

Were it not for one bad pitch, we would have been in the game. But then, you expect your ace to not fall victim to one bad pitch with two runners on base.

The ol' Schilling philosophy. Don't ever be afraid of giving up a HR with the bases empty. But with runners on, you pitch differently. It seemed to work for Shadow Mountain High School's mouth that roared.
