Texas now down 5-2 and have runners on 2nd and 3rd with one out... smells like a game-tying 3 run dinger here...

TL is going to blow this game because he is too stubborn to make defensive replacements.

Goldy at 1st, Mathis behind the plate

And of course Boxberger walks Kiner-Fileka to bring up the tying run in Guzman... Would’ve been too easy to have gotten Kiner-Fileka out...

Way to hold them for the win.

This is what I don't understand about this team. They have these types of game, runs in more then 2 innings, hitting runs in, but they can't do this on a consistent basis. Just once ever 3 games it seems.

The DBack’s baserunning in the second game was incredible.

This team can’t hit. That’s why it frustrates you all so much, but it runs the bases and fields so well. That’s why it’s competitive.

When they string some hits together, they look good, but it just doesn’t happen often because you have an order of weak hitters.

...you have an order of weak hitters.
For most of the season, due in large part to injuries, you're right.

But the current lineup of Peralta/Goldy/Pollock/Escobar/Souza/Marte/Ahmed/(Catcher) is a decent group . . . if they would stop trying to hit each pitch over the fence.

It affects not only the D-backs, but the Dodgers and the Rockies as well. Isn't that why we still hold onto 1st place?

If we would only buck the trend and set line drives as the standard approach, then pick their pitches carefully to "lift" (as Peralta does), we'd be OK.

Peralta hits around .300 and hits home runs using that approach. Goldy, too.

And some good ol' National League strategy on the part of Lovullo

I'm curious about your opinion.
