I only hang around the Cards forum as i'm a Cubbie and Maple Leaf fan but i wondered if the Cards are now the most popular franchise in town now, just going by attendance and traffic on this site?

Suns are easily the most popular team in town.

At this posting, I would say Dbacks and Cards are tied for second.

Coyotes are a distant fourth.

While I agree with this, if the Cards give this town something to believe in they will rule it.

I don't know if this town can ever overtake the Suns as its team.

I would agree that Arizona is waiting for the Cardinals to step-up, and make the playoffs. I for one, would be super stoked. However, the Suns will always be Arizona's team, period.

I think thew Suns would need to go through another decade like the 80's while the Cards would need to go crazy during that period for it to even be close.

You never know though.

Regarding the Dbacks..... It comes down to them having a title coupled with their recent success.

The Cards either are already #2 or will be very soon.

I think so. I think that Arizona is more inclined to be football fanatics. I guess the only way that we can find out is if, and when, the Cards become a consistant performer.

I think it comes down to which ever teams are good. The Suns weren't selling out much before their recent success.

The Suns are #1 in town, but you mentioned this SITE and the Cards traffic definitely accounts for at least 50% of it.

The Suns maybe 25-30%, the rest the other teams.

If the Cards can make the turn around just like the Patriots did, the Cards have a chance to share the #1 title with the suns.

The NFL dominates ANY city, including this one. There are just more football fans than baseball or basketball fans, and it's not even close. However, there's no doubt that, overall, the Suns have the most undivided loyalty in the city.

If the Cards ever string two playoff seasons together, every other sport in the valley will start to struggle to get the attention they were used to.

I agree 100%.

This town is just waiting for the Cardinals to finally get good. The minute they have success the other sports will play second fiddle.

People can't wait for football season to start around here. Unfortunetly for the last decade the season has been over only a few weeks into it.

i'd agree that the town is just waiting for the cards to give 'em cause to love 'em. this town does love it's football. see the sun devils back in their rose bowl runs. insanity.

but the suns will always be #1 unless sarver alienates the fans. the suns have been here the longest, have built loyalties with all ages, have consistently been winners. and have been close to titles, but have fallen just short. they're also homegrown.

From what I've seen on TV, it seems like you guys have some outstanding football fans there. The crowd intensity was simply amazing for the Seahawks and Steelers games, especially given the fact that the Cardinals have not given their fans much cause for excitement, well, ever.

I really hope to see the Cards continue to play well. They have the talent, now they just need the attitude and a little luck of the good variety. I've been watch them on Sunday Ticket over the past few years, and I don't think I've ever seen any sports team with the consisitent bad luck the Cards have had. Seems like the ball never bounces their way.

Anyways, good luck. I think the Cards should be competing for at least a wild-card based on their play so far this year.
