Cardinals | DC change likely if Bruce Arians becomes HC
Wed, 16 Jan 2013 12:54:00 -0800

Indianapolis Colts offensive coordinator Bruce Arians likely would not retain Arizona Cardinals defensive coordinator Ray Horton if he becomes the Cardinals new head coach. It is believed Arians has promised former Philadelphia Eagles defensive coordinator Todd Bowles that he would hire Bowles as the defensive coordinator if he got a head coaching job.

I'm not sure the Cardinal brass will go for that at all. I don't think theyll allow him that power.

I am so thankful for this thread.

None of this information is available anywhere else on this board.

Jurecki is shooting this down. Says he talked to Arians' agent.

They are citing Arizonasports.com, who in turn are citing KFFL.
That sounds about right.

Here's what my BS Detector is picking up:

The Cards haven't even interviewed him yet (& to our knowledge, he hadn't blipped on our radar screen until last night). And suddenly he's a front-runner? That doesn't fit the Bidwill MO even a little bit.

It still doesn't help keeping Horton from being felt like he was jerked around my Michael & making him want to continue coaching this year or past 2013. Hortons getting played like a rag doll & will soon be taking his services elsewhere IMO.

I don't buy into that theory at all.

I'm 95% sure this fanbase likes Horton 5% more than everyone else.

and that's by his own doing by not picking a better OC. Everyone knows that the weakness of the team right now is our offense. The key is to get him to pick someone to fix that problem. I can't blame the team for not going with an unknown.

If he could get Norv Turner to sign on as OC (still unsigned) then he'd be our HC tomorrow and noone would complain about it.

We were losing him as our DC anyways. As he said that he would defer to whoever he chose as a DC.

MJ said Horton isn't happy.

I hate to say it after a few good years, but it appears the Cards are returning to the team with no class. They just don't appear professional and sophisticated in a mature and intelligent way. I hope I am wrong, but as the saying goes: If it walks like a duck.......

Just because your among the first to sign a HC doesn't make you right.

Watch! Horton may be forced to stay aboard in 2013, but if he gets bypassed as the HC (it's pretty clear Michael doesn't want to hire the guy), he's taking his services elsewhere. Wouldn't you? Michael thinks he's going to get the best of both worlds, but he's going about it the wrong way IMO.
